The moment Estelle turned back to Ethan, her smirk disappeared. What she saw both shocked and surprised her. Ethan was trying to eat in a most abnormal way. It seemed that he was trying with great difficulty to put his head in his bowl and eat the food like an animal without using his hands. He was busy trying to slurp up the hot soup.

Seeing that he was about to overturn the bowl, Estelle could not help but rush to stop him. "Wait!"

Hearing her rebuke, Ethan looked up in puzzlement, as if asking her what he had done wrong.

Estelle waved her hand to stop him from trying to slurp more soup. She sighed and came over to him. "Never mind. I'll feed you."

Then, she perched on the edge of the bed and took over the bowl.

However, Ethan pouted his lips, ensuring that she could clearly see that his mouth had been dirtied during his attempt to feed himself. "Clean it for me, please," he said.

Seeing this, she grabbed a tissue from the box on the bedside table and handed it to Ethan. But he wiggled his arms and complained with a look of extreme sorrow, "I can't move my arms."

'What the fuck!

He actually expects me to wait on him hand and foot!' Estelle thought with disgust.

A complicated expression appeared on her face, and then she said to herself, 'Fine. I can do this.'

Quickly, she raised her hand and dabbed at Ethan's lips with the tissue.

Damn it! With her movement, she suddenly noticed that his lips were so damn beautiful.

His lips were thin with a natural gloss. He didn't use lip balm or anything, but his lips had a naturally beautiful tone. Besides that, their shape was also inviting and tempted her for a kiss.

'But local legends have it that people with thin lips are all heartless. Is that true about Ethan?' she wondered.

With these thoughts confusing her mind, Estelle's hands dabbed slower and slower at his lips.

Somehow, she felt that she had seen his lips somewhere in her past.

For some reason, she had long suspected that she had met him previously, but every time she asked him, he refused to admit it.

Moreover, she had racked her brain over and over, but she could not think of a person named Ethan from her past, and no one who looked like him lingered in her memory. It was a gr

eart, he would have to leave, no matter how reluctant he was.

He had not been unreasonable in his love. Carlos was a well-educated man and from a young age, he had developed a high moral code. He was not able to convince himself to accept or condone the way that Nora was behaving.

Knowing that this game couldn't continue any longer, he almost tore Nora's house apart, searching for the evidence when she didn't notice. However, he still couldn't find it.

Nora, in sharp contrast, behaved as normally as possible, and she pretended like nothing had happened and like she had done nothing wrong.

Every day, she would browse online recipes to prepare fabulous meals for Carlos. She would give a sweet smile and ask him, "Does it taste good?"

Every time she spoke to him, she looked pure and gentle, like when they had first met. Her face was as warm as the morning sunshine, making her both irresistible and inviting.

Carlos often stared blankly at her seemingly pure face. He wondered, 'If only she was really as innocent in her heart as she pretended!' If that was the case, he would give up everything to be with her. No matter what others might think of her, he would always have treated her as before.

He couldn't get her to be as she pretended, no matter how hard he tried. Unfortunately, the same things happened again. He couldn't get her to become the Nora that she pretended to be.

Perhaps once someone's heart had been jaded and stained, it could never again be washed clean.
