Seeing this, Lilian quickly ran to Jacob's side, squatted and said with concern, "Master Jacob, are you all right? Let me fetch you some hot water!"

Emily stood just beyond the door on the porch with a pumpkin in her hands.
Lilian suddenly cried out and fell into Jacob's arms. Jacob wanted nothing more than to push her away, but his arms had gone numb and were hanging limply. He didn't even have the strength to lift them.
"Master Jacob..." Lilian called out to him in a soft voice, refusing to stand up.
She even glanced at Emily from time to time. Jacob gritted his teeth in agony. How badly he wished that he could kill Lilian! She was taking advantage of his condition.
Emily cleared her throat. Only then did Lilian pretend to realize that Emily had returned home and looked at her in a show of panic. She stood up and said in a somewhat flustered voice, "It's Master Jacob..."
"It's Master Jacob? I don't believe that my Jacob would have any interest in a girl like you!" In Lilian's eyes, Emily was just a weak patient who always spoke in soft tones. Hence, Lilian had not viewed Emily as a threat to her at all.
But now, when she heard Emily speak in such a straightforward way, she was taken aback. Thus, she rushed to explain, "Master Jacob fell down, and I was helping him up."
"You had to lie so close against his body, did you? Is this how you helped him up? Huh?" Emily retorted with a mocking tone, but she seemed completely indifferent to Lilian. Instead, she squatted down and untied Emi's leash. After leisurely stroking Emi's hair for a while, she stood up again, walked over to Lilian, and slapped her hard across the face.
Lilian never expected that Emily possessed such powerful strength.
"Mrs. Gu, you had no reason to slap me!"
"Well, you are nothing but a shameless harlot. Without a doubt, I have enough reason to slap you." Emily cast a look at Jacob and noticed that his face was pale and beaded with sweat. She immediately called the butler. When the butler entered the room, Lilian burst into tears, almost crying her eyes out.
"Arrange for Lilian to prune the flower seedlings from now on. She's forbidden from stepping foot into the house!" After delivering her orders, Emily touched her palm to Jacob's forehead and asked, "You're burning up with fever. Do we need to call an ambulance?"
She directed her question to Jacob.
Emily began to worry. She was afraid that her rash action had placed Jacob in danger.
And, truthfully, he was in great danger now.
Jacob nodded weakly. He had been poisoned, but he didn't want Emily to worry about him, so he tried his best to sound nonchalant as he
all. Instead, she raised her lips, smiling. "You mean that Jacob wanted your body?"
Seeing that she was being quite ineffective against Emily, and hearing what she had said, Lilian tried a different tack, shaking her head repeatedly. "I...I didn't mean that!"
"Take it easy. I just came to see if the new job is suitable for your skills. I didn't expect that you would look after these beautiful flowers so well. Therefore, you will be in charge of this job for the time being!" Emily instructed, patting Lilian on her shoulder. "Make sure to do the job well!"
"Thanks for your encouragement, Mrs. Gu. I will not disappoint you."
Without another word, Emily led Taylor back to the room, asked the butler to unlock the maid's dormitory, and took her phone out to call the police.
Jacob had been poisoned, and she wanted to see who would dare to pull the wool over Jacob's eyes.
"Yvonne..." Taylor instinctively called Emily by her former name. Emily briefly looked at her, while she continued flipping through the interfaces on her mobile phone. Afterwards, she turned back and looked at Taylor in confusion.
"Now that Jacob is in the hospital, if you call the police and let them search the villa for the poison and the culprit, would..." After thinking for a moment, Taylor continued, "Would you not alert the enemy?"
Taylor knew that Jacob had recently been engaged in a massive man-hunt for Darren so that he might be arrested, and that Darren had gone to ground, not leaving a trace to be found. Jacob had discovered where Darren had been laying low several times, but when he and his men had gone to arrest him, Darren had always seemed to be one step ahead of them.
Due to this, Jacob had even begun suspecting that Darren had planted a spy among his or Chuck's men.
This had necessitated that he implemented the arrest plan in secret.
