Battle on the Iceberg 1
Schleer and Valentina were already expecting the enemy to try destroying the [Valizer] using their striker unit. However, with their opponent being the Imperial Guards, the Noredian elites, the matter of defending is not so simple.

Schleer moaned while avoiding a protruding chunk of ice. The iceberg in front of her was hit by a large number of explosives and scattered in all directions. The Noredians have brought out their artillery and are firing back at them.

Her armor was not pierced but the impact from it was still enough to make Schleer jump. Turning her fright into anger, Schleer puts her finger on her control stick. She was seriously pondering the option to go there and take the enemy down herself.

“If you’re going in then I can go with you you know?”

The voice came from the [Dainsleif] which just landed beside her. Saki only joined the frontline a short while ago but she seems to be frustrated at the situation as well.

“…..no, we can’t afford to go on a half-baked offensive right now.”

However, Saki’s words had the opposite effect. She understands that she can not afford to use a forceful tactic and needlessly risk the lives of her allies. Instead, she retreated back and contacted her artillery unit.

“The enemy has more skilled personnel and equipment on their side. Besides, we are dedicating a good chunk of our firepower to suppress the enemy fleet……it’s unreasonable to ask your reserve unit to fight head-on against the Noredian elites in the first place!”

As the artillery officer say, they have dedicated all kinds of ranged weapons such as heavy artillery, fortress guns, rocket launchers, and battleship turrets to suppress the Empress’s fleet. The Empress is wary of the [Valizer] but the mobile fortress itself was put here after only a quick repair. Even if the enemy doesn’t launch an attack on it, they can’t say for sure how long they can continue to use that thing.
That’s why the suppressing fire is being done by other units.
Their side simply is inferior in terms of firepower. The enemy bombardment hit the iceberg again. The party had to retreat further while avoiding the shrapnels and chunks of ice.

He already knows that Diaroze would find a way to distract him if he asks her the full details of the plan but he still can’t help but get curious about it. Since he has nothing to do without the control of [Ex-Caliburn], he’d been pondering what it could be.

Kisei let out a small groan and reached down to the holster on his waist. He then took out candy inside, stripped it of its wrapping, and handed it to Diaroze.

A moment after Diaroze said that a huge explosion occurred on the surface of the iceberg. The impact caused a large-scale collapse and Diaroze hurriedly powered the thruster to take them off the ground.
After that, a group of jet-black strikers rushed in as though to use the small opening the explosion created. The Imperial Guards have arrived.
