Qianru couldn't help but blush upon hearing Xiao Jun's brash comment.

"Jun...!" She called his name in reprimanding tone, but Xiao Jun knew her better to know that she was more ashamed than angry.

Xiao Jun was unusually quiet when he put an ointment on her wrist as if the bruises need more of his attention.

After he finished bandaging Qianru's wrist, he bent over and kissed her cheeks. "Go to sleep now, you are not sleeping in the entire night right?"

Xiao Jun gave off unexplainable calm feeling, but it made Qianru more worry about him.

"Jun…" She tugged his sleeves, urged him to stop. "Why don't you take a rest as well? You also didn't sleep this entire night right?" Qianru looked at Xiao Jun with anxious expression.

"I am alright, I will rest after I take care of some business." Xiao Jun didn't pull his hand from Qianru's grip like he usually did, but he let Qianru to let him go by her own. "I will bring you out in the evening, so make sure you rest well."

Now Qianru puzzled, this was the first time that Xiao Jun would bring her out to accompany him to take care of his business.

If it was like before, he wouldn't have bothered to even inform her where he would go.

So, they had made a progress after all, right?

"Alright." Qianru was happy nonetheless. She let go of his sleeves and tiptoed to kiss his cheek.

Once again, Qianru's action had caught him out of guard, he knew very well how much this woman loved him.

But because since the very beginning he had said that he had someone else that he loved, Xiao Jun thought, with time and his indifferences treatment, it would corroding her feeling, unexpectedly the way she looked at him was a prove that his thought was wrong.

She was still the little girl, who lost direction after the party in the palace from fourteen years ago. The shy little girl, but strong headed.

The first moment he saw her, he would have never thought that their relationship would escalate into a marriage, he always saw her like a sister.

However, eventually Xiao Jun realized, he no longer saw her as a little sister. No, there was no way he could see her as a little sister…

Xiao Jun lifted Qianru's chin and pulled her closer as he leaned over and touched her lips with his.

She is his wife…

Qianru thought that she would have trouble to fall asleep because of the tension around the palace and her worried about Xiao Jun.

But, once her head had touched the pillow and her body felt comfortable under the blanket, her mind drifted away to the silence of slumber.

She didn't realize how much pressure that she had been holding all this time, from Xiao Jun's behavior, the tension inside the palace and the revelation of Xiao Jun's extreme plan.

Not to mention Mo Qin Yi's existence, he just added her misfortune.

But, because Xiao Jun had started to open up with her and even asked her to come with him tonight to take care of some business, Qianru's excitement washed away her worries.

Qianru's was very eager to know where Xiao Jun would bring her or what they would do tonight.

She even smiled in her sleep, giggling childishly as her heart felt warm when she remembered their kiss.

With all the turmoil that occurred within the palace, The Emperor Mo Qian Yuan issued an edict to detain all the envoys from Zodasian Kingdom, including princess Lin Yiren and the daughter of General Meng, Meng Yi Ran.

Both of them would be held as leverage.

Without a doubt it wasn't a good news for both of the noble women, they were throwing tantrum ever since they were forbade to go out of their courtyard, along with that, there were dozens guards around them that made their place looked more like prison than a living place.

Lin Yiren has been asking for audience with the Emperor, with no avail. Mo Qian Yuan would turn down her request every time.

However, The Emperor's action was far away better than the Imperial Concubine's demand, she wanted Lin Yiren to die!

A life for a life. That was all she said. She was very eager to kill the Princess regardless the consequences.

Even thought they were on the edge of war, they couldn't harshly take a Princess of Zodasian's life without think about it carefully.

Once they killed Lin Yiren, they would lose something to go against the Zodasian. The princess was still valuable if she was alive.

However, it wasn't only the Princess and the General's daughter who were suffering during this time, another person was going through the same treatment as well.

It was Imperial Concubine Lin Xinyang, she had been grounded since the moment head of Mo Jingchen was sent to the palace.

As someone from Zodasian and the eldest daughter of the Princess Lin Yiren, of course she would be put in difficult situation.

The hatred from Imperial Noble Consort Yang Luoyi, Mo Jingchen's mother, was prominent. Even so, she could do nothing if the Emperor didn't issue an order.

While all the turmoil was brewing inside the palace, the main instigator of all this bedlam was sleeping soundly beside his wife.

Xiao Jun had just comeback this afternoon and found out Qianru was still sleeping, looking at her peaceful face made him felt all the accumulation of his tiredness hit him at once.

He decided to only rest for awhile beside her, however he ended up slept the entire afternoon.

Her scent and the sound of her breathing lulled him to deep slumber that he couldn't savor these past days.

Meanwhile, the moment Qianru was awaken, the sun was almost going down and Xiao Jun sleeping's face was the first sight that she saw.

She was startled at first, but a big smile grazed her lips when she realized, he was sleeping while holding her tightly to him.

His face rested atop of her head while his arms were around her waist and shoulder. It was the best way to wake up and a sight to behold.

Qianru tried to not wake him up, but couldn't suppress the urge to touch him too.

With her slender fingers, she traced Xiao Jun's outline face, barely touched him as she kept her fingers floating just on the surface of his skin.

Overlooking their current situation now, Qianru wanted to relish this very moment and engraved this feeling in her heart, so she would be able to keep this beautiful time with him.

Seemingly Xiao Jun was really tired, and so Qianru let him sleep little bit longer until the sun had really gone down and the room became dark.

Initially she didn't want to wake him up and wanted to continue to sleep again until the next morning, but Xiao Jun had told said that he would bring her to take care some business and whatever it was, it would be something important to him.

Qianru didn't want to foil his plan because of this.

Thus, reluctantly she shook his body and peppered butterfly kisses along his jaw line.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.webnovel.com for visiting.

"Jun, wake up…" She whispered, in all honesty, unwilling to wake him up. "It's dark outside… you said, you will bring me somewhere."

A small grunt escaped Xiao Jun's lips when he heard Qianru's soft voice, instead of waking up, he held Qianru closer and buried his face on the crook of her neck.

"Jun, you have to wake up…" Qianru was in trouble, part of her wanted to hug him back and fell to sleep again, but there was important matter that needed Xiao Jun's presence, though she didn't know what the matter was. "Jun, if you don't wake up now, you will be late. We will be late."

Xiao Jun let out a small grunt again.

This was very annoying, he felt like he had just fallen asleep, but suddenly Qianru woke him up. If it wasn't for his realization of how dark his surroundings, he would have thought he had just slept for a minute rather than entire afternoon.

"I am awake…" Xiao Jun said sullenly.

What a troublesome, after he could finally fall asleep, reality has been waiting for him to make a deal with.

***

Qianru knew that Xiao Jun would be dealing a secret matter that required them to be secretive from the palace people.

But, Qianru has no idea that she would have to dress in man clothes.

Xiao Jun had prepared a man clothes for her because his size would be too big for his wife's small frame. He also helped her tied her hair into a man bun and let her carried a sword even though Qianru had never learned martial arts.

For a moment she looked like a pretty boy in his teen age, no one would see something wrong with her in the dark night.

"Whatever will happen, don't talk." Xiao Jun reminded her.

No matter how brilliant Qianru disguised herself as a man, once she spoke, her voice would blow up her cover.

"Understood." Qianru grinned, looking at her reflection on the bronze mirror. She got strange feeling when she saw male version of herself, but got excited with the thing that she would experience.

"And don't smile." Xiao Jun added.

He thought it would be easy to bring Qianru along and dressed her up as a man, but how could such a delicate woman like her could be mistaken as a man?

He was thinking too highly about his own idea.

"And stay behind me." With that sullen remarked, Xiao Jun helped Qianru to get on her own horse.
