When the night fell and the dinner time came, Qianru didn't have appetite as she was waiting for Xiao Jun.
He had gone to the Palace alone and up until now still there was no news about his whereabouts, Qianru was so worry, she didn't touch her meal.
The pain on her cheek had subsided, but her cheek was still red and puffy.
When Xiao Jun left, Bai Yuyan, the eunuch and the other people that she had brought also left the mansion, once they had gone, Liu Wei locked it down.
"Still there is no news about Jun?" Qianru asked Jinse worriedly. There were many things happened today and Qianru physically and mentally exhausted because of this.
Jinse shook her head. "Maybe Prince Xiao Jun is still in the palace…" Jinse voiced out what was in her mind.
However, that didn't put Qianru at ease, the palace for Xiao Jun and Xiao Tianyao wasn't safe place, it almost like they were going to the den of the enemies rather than the place where they had grown up and it had been so long since Xiao Jun gone to the palace.
"I will rest in my room." Qianru informed Jinse, didn't even touch her food. How she could swallow those delicacies if she didn't know whether her husband was safe or not.
Furthermore, Xiao Tianyao was injured, she didn't know what she should do if something happen to Xiao Jun.
She had a plan to go back home and asked her father for support if until tomorrow Xiao Jun still not comeback yet.
"But, my lady at least you should eat something…" Jinse tried to persuade her, she looked at the delicacies on the table. "Or, should Jinse ask someone to bring all the food inside your chamber?"
However Qianru was really not in the mood to eat as she waved her hand and continued to walk back toward her room.
She was tired.
Once she was inside, her eyes subconsciously directed toward the letters atop of her table that she didn't even touch.
They were still inside envelops neatly.
Qianru walked closer and picked up the latest letter that Xiao Jun had written for her and opened it carefully, there were two long pages inside with his handwriting that she had familiar.
She read the first page that was talking about his life in northern fortress and asked for her, Xiao Jun was apologize for what he had done. The second pages said if within a week he didn't receive a reply letter from her then he would go back to the Capital city, went against Elder Dam's permission, and Qianru himself.
He proved, because today he came and saved her from the unnecessary drama that was brought by Bai Yuyan and her Imperial decree.
To think about this again, there was a good side that Qianru didn't answer his letter at all. After all to deal with Bai Yuyan and the Emperor, not to mention Xiao Tianyao who was being attacked, was too much for her.
She wouldn't be able to take care all of those issues if Xiao Jun didn't come in time.
"You really had not read all of my letters."
Suddenly Xiao Jun's voice sounded from behind her back, Qianru jumped from the chair as she startled by his sudden appearance.
"Jun! You scared me!" Qianru yelled at him subconsciously, she clutched her chest that thumping fast.
However, Xiao Jun ignored Qianru complain as he stretched out his hand and caressed her red and swollen left cheek.
"Is it still hurt?" He asked with concern laced in his voice.
Upon his touch, Qianru's annoy slightly subsided as she leaned against his big palm. "No, not anymore." She said softly.
But, she knew that answer would mean nothing for Xiao Jun as he would continue to worry about it.
The swollen probably would get worse tomorrow as Qianru had a sensitive skin and it would stay like that for days.
She wouldn't be able to go outside with face like that.
"Did you just come?" Qianru asked. The weight of worry on her shoulder suddenly disappeared the moment she saw Xiao Jun was fine. He comeback without any injuries and looked as good as he left.
"Yes." Xiao Jun stopped caressing her cheek and hugged her instead. "Why didn't you eat? I saw the servant said something like you didn't even touch your food."
"How can I have appetite when I don't know how your condition?" Qianru mumbled to his ears. "I even have a plan to visit father's mansion if you don't comeback tomorrow morning."
Xiao Jun was smiling upon heard Qianru's confession. "So, you are worried about me…" He stated, his face was so happy, but unfortunately Qianru couldn't see it.
"Of course I am worried." Qianru said in matter of fact tone. "How can I not?"
"Hm…" Xiao Jun mumbled. "I like to hear that." He said.
