2.6 million, just the troops entering the front line. Germany has begun to mobilize in advance for the war. Many workers on the production line have been transferred to the army, and the vacancies are filled by other personnel. Even some women have taken up jobs.

In the rear, Germany is still training at least about 2 million troops. Once needed, they can go to the battlefield at any time and shed their last drop of blood for Germany!

The time of the war is getting closer and closer.

Poznan air force base, Poland.

As early as half a year ago, the air base here had been expanded. The main runway was more than 2000 meters. It could take off not only ordinary fighters, but also large aircraft, including junker-390.

Now, at the takeoff end of the runway, a large plane is preparing for departure.

This large aircraft is somewhat different from the existing aircraft in Germany. Its fuselage is slender, and the shape of its wings has some special torsion. There are two engines at the roots of both wings, driving four blade propellers. Its cockpit is composed of multiple pieces of glass and has a good field of vision.

The tail of the fuselage is a tilted tail wing. On both sides of the tail wing, there are two vertical tail wings, which looks more alternative.

Captain Lucas, wearing a full set of flight equipment, carrying a suitcase and his crew, came to the plane.

"Captain, the plane is ready. It is full of oil and photographic film. The automatic equipment is completely normal." The ground crew said to him.

Lucas nodded and climbed into the cockpit from the narrow space under the nose. Behind him, several crew members also got on the plane in turn.

Turn on each switch, Lucas observed that the instrument data was normal, and then ordered the pilot beside him to start the engine.

"Da, Da, Da..." the engine on one side made the special sound of high-pressure oil pump, the exhaust pipe emitted black smoke, and the propeller turned.

The vibration of this engine is much larger than that of ordinary aircraft engines. It is not the sound that gasoline engines can have at all. It is completely a genuine diesel engine!

It's true that there are still some unusual planes in Germany. For example, Lucas's plane is an extremely special long-range reconnaissance aircraft, ju-86p.

From the code point of view, it is very close to the junker-88. When developing this aircraft, it was indeed considered as a bomber. However, now, the improved aircraft has played a great role in long-distance investigation.

This kind of aviation diesel engine is imbued with the painstaking efforts of Dr. Hugo junks, the founder of junks company. As early as 1910, junks began to develop lightweight aviation diesel engine based on heavy industrial and marine engines. By 1930, aviation diesel engines had been put into use.

Gasoline engine has high power and sensitive response. It is an outstanding aviation power. Almost all aircraft in various countries choose aviation gasoline engine. However, junks company has another way to adopt aviation diesel engine, which also has its advantages.

The fuel consumption rate of diesel engine is quite low. Under the same capacity of fuel, the working time of diesel engine can be more than twice that of gasoline engine. In this way, the range can be significantly improved.

Specifically, when the speed reaches 180 knots, it only needs to consume 20 gallons of diesel per hour. Historically, when the auxiliary fuel tank was used, this kind of aircraft has sailed far to Australia. The total range is 23335km, with a total flight time of 69 flight hours.

In terms of endurance, even the junker-390 is second to none.

Another advantage is that the diesel engine works stably under low pressure. In the case of thin air at high altitude, the gasoline engine needs a secondary supercharger to work normally, and the demand for diesel engine is very low.

With this idea, junks company developed JUMO 205 series and JUMO 207 series aviation diesel engines. Unfortunately, the demand for this diesel engine is not high. Finally, it is only installed on junks Ju 86 aircraft for use, which has become a significant symbol of Ju 86.

This kind of aircraft has only one task, that is, long-distance investigation!

After the engines on both sides started normally, Lucas checked the instruments again. After confirming that there was no problem, he gently released the brake.

The engines on both sides vibrated more violently, the propeller flew, and the ju-86p began to slide on the runway.

The diesel engine has high torque but insufficient power. Now the engines on both sides can only produce 1000 horsepower, which makes the acceleration of the aircraft not smooth.

The reconnaissance plane loaded with fuel barely pulled up in the middle of the runway, and then began to climb slowly.

100 meters, 200 meters, 500 meters, 1000 meters... The altimeter has shown 10000 meters. In this era, this is the ceiling of many high-altitude fighters.

However, for this reconnaissance plane, it is not high enough!

It is still slowly climbing up.

Eleven, twelve, thirteen... When we climbed to fourteen thousand meters, we finally leveled off.

Yes, it's 14000 meters. Even at the end of World War II, only ta-152 fighters can reach it!

At this altitude, the ju-86p reconnaissance aircraft is absolutely safe. Therefore, this aircraft does not carry any weapons, not even the turret at the tail. Its survival king is altitude!

In future generations, whether U-2 or SR-71 blackbirds, their way of survival is to fly higher!

After leveling, the power of the diesel engine was finally reduced. At this time, the temperature of the engine was already very high.

The diesel engine runs smoothly. At this height, it does not feel that there is insufficient oxygen in the air.

Finally, the plane stabilized at 350 kilometers per hour and began the long flight.

To the East, fly across the border, over Belarus, over Moscow, and all the way to the Ural Mountains. Along the way, thousands of reconnaissance photos should be taken for the rear.

Over the years, the relationship between Germany and the Soviet Union has been good and bad, and as an imperial soldier, it is his bounden duty to obey orders. Therefore, Lucas has no psychological pressure on this kind of reconnaissance flight.

Even the Soviets couldn't find them at all. The Soviets of this era haven't developed mature and reliable radar yet!

As time went by, they flew over Warsaw, opposite the Soviet airspace.

"Navigator, pay attention to the direction adjustment in Warsaw. We need to take more photos of the deployment of the Soviets here." Lucas said, "check our camera equipment and get ready to work!"

The cabin door in the middle of the fuselage opened. Inside, several high-precision aerial cameras began to prepare for photography.
