Chapter 124 – Wilderness Winner (6)

Qin Qiu responded. “My idol is Big… Big Sister Su!”

Chen Gangyu was speechless.

Su Jishi, on the other hand, didn’t feel awkward at all. She nodded calmly and said, “Right, I’m Big Sister Su and Big Sister Su is me.”

The male celebrity was a budding popular celebrity and the female celebrity was the current popular celebrity. If the pair went to do a task together… if this was in any other show, even if the two were innocent, the editing later on would make the pair seem like a sweet couple.

But Qin Qiu and Su Jishi’s relationship was very perplexing. While they were traveling, the two would always be talking to each other. Chen Gangyu originally thought that the two planned to promote themselves as a couple… but now it seems like they were just brothers and sisters?

She didn’t understand. She really didn’t.

In the end, the results for the grouping came out. Chen Gangyu, Jing Wei, and Yan Changhui were in charge of catching fish while Su Jishi and Qin Qiu went to gather firewood.

Su Jishi didn’t care about her camera shots. She just wanted to finish her task and eat dinner.

…

A dense forest surrounded them, there were fallen tree branches everywhere. A pity that the majority of the tree branches were unfit to make a fire.

The firewood used to make fire had to be dry and well-proportioned in terms of thickness. They finally found some recently fallen tree branches that weren’t eroded by rain and were very suitable to make fire.

However, this portion of the tree branches fell from the tree and scattered everywhere There were layers of leaves on top like a giant carpet spreading across the entire ground.

The tree branches were too heavy and even if they carried it together, they wouldn’t be able to. They would have to break it down into smaller portions in order to carry it back.

Qin Qiu kicked it right then. While kicking it, he even started chanting.

The two video cameras following them recorded this budding teen idol kicking and assaulting the tree branches stupidly.

Su Jishi felt a headache coming and she asked him, “How long are you planning to kick it? You have such a big bag. You must’ve brought some tools, right?”

Qin Qiu stopped and started rummaging through his bag. Don’t mention how Qin Qiu appeared to be a “dominant noble man” in the eyes of his fans’, but in private, he was just an extra large silkworm. When he was young, he trained in shooting. After he debuted, his manager managed everything for him, so he could barely do anything by himself. Even his assistants packed his luggage for him.

He rummaged for a while and finally found a versatile Swiss dagger at the bottom of the hiking bag. He displayed it, illustrating how small the dagger was. It wasn’t even the length of his palm.

He cupped the handle of the dagger, extremely excited. “There really is something!”

“… Nevermind,” Su Jishi said, “Let me do it.”

“How can I do that?!” Qin Qiu was serious. “You’re a girl. Let men do the hard work and gather the firewood!”

Su Jin was officially 26, but in Qin Qiu’s eyes, she was still a “girl”. Plus, he’d just returned 20, and he was considered a “man”.

Su Jishi didn’t bother to talk nonsense with him.

What can the Swiss dagger be used for? To cut a tree or to scratch its trunk?

She didn’t take off her bag. Instead, she reached back and placed her hand into the right pocket. In the next second, an all steel grayish silver geological hammer with an indigo blue body appeared in her hands.

The producer group was bewildered.

Qin Qiu was speechless.

The assistants were flabbergasted.

Su Jishi turned her wrist and the newly polished geological hammer agilely spun a few times before it landed in her hand steadily.

That’s right. For the recording of 《Wildlife Winner》this time, Su Jishi specially brought a small and exquisite 14 ounce geological hammer. Normally, a 20-24 ounce medium-sized geological hammer would be used to collect samples of rocks in the wilderness. Yet, in order to decrease the weight she needed to carry, she only brought a small hammer. Although it was small, it was enough to deal with all sorts of situations. It had a square-head suitable to hit things. On the other end, it was flat which was suitable to pry and hack things.

Su Jishi hadn’t been intimate with her “boyfriend” for many days. As a result, she caressed the body of the hammer, sighing. Thinking that she could use it to display her skills today, she felt grand and heroic.

Everyone glanced at her figure in a daze.

They watched as she looked up with a serious expression while holding the hammer, standing arrogantly under the tall tree. She was graceful and elegant like a female hero holding a sword and welcoming any challenges.

Qin Qiu asked confusedly, “… Why do you casually bring a hammer along with you?”

Su Jishi raised her elbow and then dropped it suddenly. The flat-shaped hammer struck heavily against the branches, they split in half like tofu.

She glanced at the new firewood scattered on the ground and slightly smiled. “Because hammers are much more reliable than men.”

…

Twenty minutes later, Su Jishi and Qin Qiu each hugged an armful of firewood back to the river.

The two stacked the firewood together while the assistants helped them take out the foldable pots and other tools to make fire. They just needed to wait for the fish to be caught and then they could immediately start making the fire and cooking.

After a while, the team catching fish came back from a rewarding journey. They’d caught a total of seven fish. The biggest was just half a catty and the fish all flapped around on the ground.

Although they caught quite a few fish, the three looked extremely exhausted and battered. The lake seemed to be shallow, but it actually reached their waists. Because Chen Gangyu was small, her clothes beneath her chest were all wet. Even though the weather was burning, she was still trembling from the cold. Her assistant hurriedly brought a towel over and covered her, escorting her to change her clothes.

Chen Gangyu was the “cook” of the team. The moment she left, no one knew how to handle these live fish.

Jing Wei and Yan Changhui were both married for many years and they had loving wives and housekeepers at home, handling the three meals. They’d never cooked before. Seeing how energetic the fresh fish were, and how they were even flapping around, they immediately panicked.

Yan Changhui hurriedly asked the instructors for help.

The instructors shook their heads. “We already helped you catch the fish before. It’s already violating the rules of the show.”

Jing Wei looked eagerly at Qin Qiu. “Xiao Qiu, do you know how to kill fish?”

“No, no, no!” While shaking his head, Qin Qiu moved back. “I’ve never seen a live fish before!”

Seeing how the three men were panicking because of a few fish, Su Jishi stood up from the pile of firewood. She threw her bag down and carried her hammer, gradually walking over.

They watched as she pressed down on the fish with her right hand and struck it with a hammer in her left hand.

Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!

Seven times, each accurately landing on the fish’s head. The seven fish were all knocked out by the hammer.

Next, Su Jishi turned the head of the hammer over and used the flat-shaped side to skin the gills of the fish. After a few minutes, the fish were clean, their bodies bare.

Qin Qiu was speechless.

Jing Wei was dumbstruck.

Yan Changhui was flabbergasted.

The three stared in shock. This was the first time that they knew hammers could be used this way…

“I already said…” Su Jish looked over at them. “… Hammers are more reliable than men.”
