Before sunset, the team finally arrived at the camping ground at the foot of the mountain successfully. The camping ground was actually just flat ground near the water. According to the residents by the mountain area, it was the rest-area developed when they went in to hunt. The ground was already rammed in advance. There were two simple pavilions by the area.
There were five celebrities here, three men and two women. They were assigned dormitories based on gender. Although the building was worn-down, at least there was a roof. It was much better than just lying on the cool ground.
Though the celebrities got to sleep in beds, their assistants weren’t as lucky.
The staff pointed at the empty ground by the north and said, “Assistants, that is where you will rest. Troubling you guys to set up the tents there. The cameras won’t film this, so try not to appear in front of the camera.”
It was unclear which assistant asked, “You guys aren’t going to help us set up tents?”
One of the staff members laughed, and amiably said, “Sorry, we have a lot of work on our hands too. Troubling the assistants to do things on your own.”
The celebrities’ assistants had been in an awkward position in the entertainment circle. Using a more common analogy, they were like the “head eunuchs” and “head maidens” by the sides of imperial consorts during the ancient time. Their status depended on their “masters”. An A-lister’s assistant naturally received much better treatment than a C-lister’s assistant. Although people respectfully addressed them as “teacher assistants”, they didn’t value them as much.
The assistants looked at each other, having no choice but to lower their heads and set up the tents. Thankfully, the ground was even, so they didn’t need to worry about getting rid of the weeds and picking up the stones.
The celebrities had each brought more than two assistants. They divided the work and quickly built the prototype.
Xiao Xia refused to back down as well. One of her could take on three people’s roles. She believed that she was not any worse than other assistants. Yet, when she really started building a tent, she noticed that it was much more difficult than she imagined.
What were these sticks for? What was the rope on the tent used for? Where’s the door? Where did the net come from? How do I connect these things? Where’s the valve for the groundsheet?
To rookies, no matter how “simple” the tent was supposed to be, it’d be hard to set up the tent without an experienced person’s lead. Xiao Xi was confused and vexed by the waterproof cloth, not knowing what to do. She wanted to give up, deciding to just lay on the ground and sleep, getting by the night just like that.
She wanted to ask the nearby people for help, but it was unsure whether they had genuinely not seen her cry for help or simply ignored it. Not a single person came up to help her, letting a girl like her work her way through this tent.
Xiao Xi had a lot of pride. She knew that the others were waiting to laugh at her. Therefore, she was adamant about making something out of the tent. She was an A-lister’s assistant after all! In the past, she’d be the most capable head-maid by the imperial consort’s side. Whenever she stepped out, she’d represent Su Jin. Therefore, how could she admit defeat before this tarpaulin?!
“Okay, let me do it!”
At this time, a clear female voice rang behind her.

She was holding a small basket carrying a towel and perfumed soap. It seemed like she was preparing to go take a shower now.
There was a simple bathroom by the camping ground. The show-runners had found a natural pit under the foot of the mountain. They hung the waterproof curtains up and placed two plastic buckets full of water on top. After a day of bathing in sunshine, the water was boiled and warmed up. It could be used for rinsing and was incredibly convenient.
However, there was only one ‘bathroom’. Chen Gangyu had just gone in, so Su Jishi came to check on Xiao Xi. Who knew that she got to see her embarrassed expression as she looked at the tent, vexed.
“Sister Su, you’ve worked hard the entire day. Don’t….”
“By the time you set the tent up, your Sister Su’s hair is going to turn white. Just stay by the side.” Su Jishi pulled Xiao Xia to the huge wooden plank by the side and had her sit down. Then, she trudged over to the tent.
She couldn’t remember how many times she had set the tent up. She could do it even with her eyes closed.
She casually glanced at the rag lying on the ground, pulled on it, and picked up the main pole. She quickly connected them and then supported the tent up, forming an arch.
The other assistants all stopped their work in shock when she arrived.
They had only heard of assistants running around and working for their celebrities, but when had they seen an actual celebrity helping their assistant set a tent up? Even if she wanted to sculpt a friendly image of herself, there was no need to come to the assistants’ area where there were no cameras, right?
