186 [Bonus chapter]Dylan’s Family

“You’re back, Dylan.” Dylan’s Father smiled when he saw his son. He had asked his son to come because he knew that the person whom he wanted to take care of Ice Group was precisely this one son.

But it was because of Dylan’s hard personality that Dylan’s Father hadn’t been successful so far.

He could only settle in having Dina helped out with the family’s business.

In any case, Dina’s business ability was not bad. She has been the one who was leading the company while he only helped behind the screen from time to time to handle some things that were not convenient for her.

“Dad,” Dylan greeted succinctly.

Dylan’s Mother looked at her son and shook her head. She could never understand why this brat didn’t want to speak too long of a sentence. But thinking of his childhood and the way these people kept on talking nonsense…

She herself felt tired dealing with them.

“You’re back?” Dylan’s Second Uncle looked at this young man and frowned.

Behind him, Hailey was looking at Dylan warily. The situation during her rescue that day made her warier of Dylan, especially because he didn’t seem to hide the fact that he didn’t like her.

.....

He showed it so blatantly that Hailey was taken aback.

Any layer of deception on the surface was completely taken off.

“Continue,” Dylan said one word and the atmosphere tensed up almost immediately. Even though Dylan was only standing there, his presence alone was more than enough to suppress others.

Those who knew him personally would know that he was not in a good mood right now.

He hated dealing with these people.

“We’re talking about the distribution of work in City E. City E is still in development and I have achieved an agreement with General Ryan in regards to Ice Blue Group.” Dylan’s Father glanced at his brother. “However, I’m talking about a new Ice Blue Group.”

Dylan’s Second Uncle looked at his brother with frown. “Are you trying to kick me out of the group after all the effort that I have made for the group?”

“Cousin, you shouldn’t talk about it again. Haven’t we discussed before that we can still continue doing it the same way as it used to be?” Dylan’s Father’s Cousin was also there, trying his best to keep his position within the Ice Blue Group.

From all the time they had been living, they knew very well the benefit it would give for them to stay in Ice Group.

No one wanted to give up on this pastry meat.

Dylan’s Father rolled his eyes. “It’s precisely because the world had changed that I want to reform the Ice Blue Group. With these awakened being the backbone of many forces, it wouldn’t be wise for me to continue working in the same direction as before.”

Dylan’s Second Uncle furrowed his eyebrows. He felt a bit anxious when he thought about these awakened.

He and his daughter were not awakened.

Without Ice Blue Group, they could only be placed at the very bottom of the ladder. This would definitely make their lives harder in the future.

After living an extravagant and comfortable life under the Ice Blue Group in the past, how could they be willing to give it all up?

It was easy to go from poverty to luxury but hard to go from luxury to poverty.

“I’m an awakened and I can definitely help with the group,” Dylan’s Father’s Cousin puffed up his chest.

He was lucky that he managed to awaken an elemental ability. Even though many of his wealth were gone after the world changed, it could still be used one way or another to exchange for things.

This way, he managed to grow up and become a rank 3 awakened.

Rank 3 might be that high, but the majority of people would find it hard for them to advance. Those who only become awakened after the second red rain was in even worse situation as they were mostly only in rank 1.

Those who awakened during the first red rain would find it hard to advance after the second red rain as they were forced to stabilize their ability first.

Thus, many of them were stuck in rank 2 to rank 3.

A portion who were diligent and talented enough had reached rank 4 and a small portion of people managed to reach rank 5.

But as time progressed, there will definitely be more and more people who advanced and their overall power would become stronger. The world’s order will change in accordance, but it needed step by step to be able to return the order so that it wouldn’t be a mess.

“We don’t need you,” Dylan was blunt.

Dylan’s Father’s Cousin’s face changed when he heard Dylan’s words. He looked at his brat in indignation. “I don’t think it’s your place to speak…”

Swish!

Ice element spread from Dylan’s feet towards the other family members except for his parents. There were several of them inside this room but only these two had been speaking because they had the more say in Ice Blue Group before.

Dylan looked at this so called uncle in front of him coldly. “Too weak.”

Too weak.

Two words, but it was more than enough for them to see the contempt within Dylan’s words and gesture. It was very clear that in the eyes of Dylan, their weak abilities couldn’t even hold a candle at all.

Under the coercion of the extreme cold temperature, their body shuddered.

Even those who were already rank 3 realized that they couldn’t do anything towards the ice that froze their legs.

Their eyes were filled with horror as they looked in Dylan’s direction.

Dylan then walked towards the laptop at the table. There were several laptops there, one of them was used for the video conference, allowing the other so called relatives to see what happened here. The other laptop was not used.

“I have the evidences of what you done in the past. Everything is safe and secure within the space element of a person I trusted.” Dylan then typed the laptop. “And all the copy is here. Do you still want to repeat what you have done in the past, Uncles?”
