Chapter 44 – Food For Pigs

Queen Alana, in the simple white dress Luciano had dressed her in and the clumsy hairstyle he had put together, though she was not used to it, was sitting well-behaved in her chair. She lacked initiative, so she did as she was told without giving her opinion.

Luciano thought about it again.

With her platinum hair, and white skin, she was the definition of “white”. If one got their hands on such white, they could stain it any colour they wanted. Like a drop of colour in glass of water, how could it possibly be removed?

Looking at her face-to-face, she still had no expression. But the corners of her mouth were upturned, so she did not appear too gloomy.

Perhaps because she did not assert herself, or perhaps it was because she did not want to burden others by being by their side; her existence was as comfortable as the soft air around him.

The reason for this ethereal and comfortable aura, could also possibly be attributed to the shape of her face. Petite, and delicate. A little pointed chin and round eyes. But that was a lost piece of the Serrat royal family. Her shoulders were narrow, and she looked thin, but anyone who knew her full breasts would love her in this dress.

The thought of being the only one who knew her secret stimulated a possessiveness in him and as he thought about it, the revelation amplified unconsciously.

-She’s a dangerous girl.

The name “succubus” was more appropriate for Alana than a woman of passion and colourful charms.*

*色香水 can also be translated to a woman of sex appeal.

Perhaps Callisto did not think she was out of the ordinary. Perhaps they were drawn to her, unbeknownst to their own psyche. This woman was someone who drove people crazy without them realising it.

Luciano observed Alana, but as soon as he turned to the food that was being lined up at the table, his gaze became grim. “What’s this?” he questioned.

His problem was not with the meal that had been prepared for him. Rather, it was the meal that had been brought for Alana.

A dozen or so peas, some kind of weird soup with some kind of soggy mixture, and a good amount of dried salted fish. There was also a crushed apple on the side.

It looked beyond disgusting, a mere glance at the ‘food’, made Luciano lose his appetite. Besides, the portions were all too small.

“Is this the food for pigs?”

If an Armenian saw this, they would be shocked that their monarch was eating this kind of filth.

“... Hey, clean up all this filthy, vomit-like garbage.” Luciano said to the servants, but it was Alana who blocked him.

“Emilio, please wait. This is my meal,” she softly spoke.

“Meal?” Luciano raised his brow incredulously. “This is garbage. Why is this happening? Look at what was prepared for me.” In front of Luciano, there was meat on the bone covered in spices, salted cabbage, chicken soup, bean paste, bread, and raspberries. They all looked delicious.

“What’s the difference?” he asked ironically. “You’re a queen. Are you being harassed?”

Luciano dipped his finger in Alana’s soup, and licked it. He shuddered. After tasting how bland it was, how could he not, not do something.

“Gross,” he muttered.

“It looks terrible and tastes terrible. It’s still garbage. Throw it out.” Luciano hurried the servants and forced them to retrieve Alana’s meal.

“I’m telling you to clean it up!” he yelled, rushing them to get rid of Alana’s unappetising food. The servants immediately collected the plates. Peas, bitter watery soup with mushy clumps of vegetable mix, and dried fish. Luciano’s frown deepened as he thought of the kinds of foods she ate daily.

“I’m weak,” Alana spoke up.

“If you’re weak, this would be an even more unacceptable meal. Do you have any symptoms that make you feel sick after eating something? What foods are forbidden? Tell me one by one.”

Luciano scrunched his nose. “Especially...”.

“If I eat that kind of trash, even a healthy person like me will die soon. Come here.”

She did not obey, but when he called again, “Alana, come quickly,” she rose from her seat and crossed to Luciano’s side.

He sat deep in his chair and sat Alana between his own legs.

“Eat mine,” Luciano said while pouring wine into the cup, but Alana refused to eat.
