Chapter 106 - Falling Ill (1)

The project over at City Hai, much like Huo YanXiao had mentioned, was a bit on the tricky side.

As such, after his arrival, Huo YanXiao poured almost all of his attention onto this demanding project.

As time moved forward and progress about this resort project continued to be reported on the news, the project was finally ready to commence two plus weeks later.

During this period of time, Nie AnAn had received a call from Huo YanXiao every afternoon. Sometimes, when he returned to the hotel early enough in the evening, they’d even video chat.

Nie AnAn’s initial worries had relaxed toward the end after being able to get hold of Huo YanXiao on a daily basis. She only hoped that Qin ZiMing and Mrs. Qin would give up on their plans after seeing that Huo YanXiao had already successfully joined the Qin’s.

According to the itinerary, Huo YanXiao would be at the ribbon-cutting ceremony with the partnering developer on the day that the Qin’s City Hai Resort commenced officially.

At 10 o’clock that morning, reporters had already arrived outside of the resort. Employees on the Qin’s had all arrived as well, waiting for the ribbon-cutting ceremony to begin.

The CEO of the partnering company had on a full suit. His cheeks were a healthy red glow, and he was doing interviews with the reporters from the media.

“Boss Ma, please tell us about your future plans? Words had it that you intended to continue your partnership with the Qin’s?”

“Actually, I mostly wanted to work with Mr. Huo. After working with him closely for the last month, I quite like his work style,” said Boss Ma.

As he was talking, his secretary whispered something into his ear. Boss Ma looked down at his watch; it was already time for the ribbon-cutting ceremony but Huo YanXiao was nowhere to be seen.

He frowned slightly. The reporters noticed that as well.

“Boss Ma, does Boss Huo being late signify some kind of issues with your future cooperation?”

Just when everyone was wondering about what was going on, a director from the Qin’s had finally arrived.

Director Gao walked over to Boss Ma and said to him, “Boss Ma. I do apologize. Boss Huo fell ill this morning and he had me come here in his place…”

His words caught the attention of the reporters immediately. “Director Gao, Mr. Huo has always been the type who’d work even when he was running a high fever. Is it some sudden illness that kept Mr. Huo from coming to the opening ceremony today? Is he on his way to the hospital already?”

As everyone were throwing out questions, someone chimed in –

“I saw an ambulance outside of the hotel that Mr. Huo stays in on my way over.”

His words shocked everyone there. “Director Gao, please tell us whether Mr. Huo had an accident?”

Director Gao ignored the question from the reporter. Turning to Boss Ma, he said, “Boss Ma, let’s carry on.”

Boss Ma was worried about Huo YanXiao as well, but he had no choice except to suppress his worry for the time being and follow through with their agenda.

On the web, there were multiple versions of the story.

One of them came out of nowhere, but its number of pictures and videos earned it a decent amount of credibility.

[CEO of the Huo’s, one of the Qin’s heirs, fell ill suddenly in City Hai and was taken to the ICU.]

There were pictures of Huo YanXiao getting into the ambulance with assistance, all the way to the ambulance arriving at the hospital, and Huo YanXiao entering into ICU, missing not a thing.

All of a sudden, the hotness of the article shot up, quickly surpassed all the other speculations, and went straight into the most trended search list.
