Chapter 923: Standing Before The King (2)

The moment the Marchioness had opened the box in her hands, the Princess who first laid eyes on it gasped at what she had just seen.

A pure white misshapen rock was placed neatly at the center of the box.

The rock wasn’t too impressive at first glance but when the light fell on it, it scattered everywhere, reflecting rays of different colors which made it appear mesmerizing to anyone who witnessed this magical sight.

Jacob Kiron, the third son of the Kiron family, was the one who explained what this present was.

The volcanic mountains found in their fief had been dormant for many years so his second elder brother had sent people to check the area recently.

The people who visited the untouched volcanic zone had begun digging the soil nearby to see if the area was fertile enough to be cultivated.

This had led to an unexpected outcome where they found these crystallized rocks buried underground.

.....

Their second elder brother had sent quite a few back to the Capital and the biggest and most impressive of the bunch had been brought to present to the King today.

After Jacob had explained its origins, the Marchioness handed the box over to the Royal Chamberlain who passed it to their King.

Having received this unseen rock, the members of the Royal family were busy admiring it just as the rest present in the Banquet Hall.

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

‘Hot springs!’ The little girl who was also watching this scene from afar gasped when she realized what Jacob’s words meant.

While the crystal did sound to be impressive considering that it had attracted the eyes of royalty in no time, there was something else that had drawn Yvonne toward this rock.

In her previous world, volcanic regions had greater chances of fossilized rocks or minerals to be found and this was also the place where hot springs were commonly created due to natural processes.

Therefore, Yvonne St. Claire, who once was the President of Platina Entertainment and loved to soak in hot springs, was now eager to know if there were any in the Kiron fief.

The little girl was already coming up with a plan to convince her father into visiting the Kiron fief if this speculation of hers turned out to be true.

While her mind was running at the speed of light, the Chamberlain announced that the King and his family would be resting for a while before they would return to the Hall.

This allowed the nobles to mingle once again until they were informed about the King’s return.

Thus the moment the Royal family vacated the Hall, the nobles began discussing what had taken place at once.

__

This discussion continued until their short break period came to an end and the Royal family returned to their seats.

During this period, Yvonne had already gotten the answers she was looking for from Jacob who was more than happy to explain to her the geography of his fief.

Thanks to the detailed information she gained from him, her theory of hot springs existing in the Kiron fief had been proven to be right.

Not only did this fief have high volcanic mountains but it also had beautiful beaches as it was along the coastline of the Kingdom.

Hearing Jacob and Aleena constantly mentioning how beautiful their fief was, Yvonne’s desire to visit it continued to increase exponentially.

However, when she felt her father’s gaze who had been staring at her with narrowed eyes ever since he had heard bits and pieces of their conversation, she could predict that convincing him would take a great deal of time and effort on her part.

After all, asking him to visit the Kiron fief which was on the opposite end of the St. Claire fief would be a tough task to accomplish.

‘But I won’t give up!’ She glared back at him, wordlessly declaring that she was determined and would not give in at any cost.

The stubborn look on her face was something Rutherford was far too familiar with.

There were rare occasions when he got to witness this sight but whenever he did, it meant that she would not give up unless she got what she wanted.

Feeling a headache rising, the Earl decided to dissuade her before she got any more adamant than she already was.

However, before he could talk some sense into her, the Chamberlain re-entered the Hall to announce the arrival of the Royal family so he had to put his plan on hold.

Nevertheless, he had also made up his mind to deal with his troublemaking daughter once they were out of the Palace.

He never would have gotten the chance to continue on his path had he insisted as the St. Claire’s family was the one that had been summoned before the King next.

Hearing their name being called out, the Earl held out his hand toward his wife who accepted it before the family of three headed toward the elevated platform where the Royal family was seated.

As King Ophire had met and interacted with this family in the past as well, it did not take too much time for their conversation to progress smoothly.

Even Countess Raylene who had been nervous until a while ago was also seen responding to the King’s queries without much difficulty.

There was no hesitation or anxiety as she answered him to the best of her abilities.

The Queen who had heard numerous positive statements regarding the daughter of this family also spoke up, something which she had not done until now.

“I did hear that Miss St. Claire’s takes classes meant for those who are older than her.” Queen Zena mentioned the rumors that even her lady-in-waiting, her closest maid in the Palace, had gotten wind of.

This lady was her eyes and ears outside the Palace who helped her stay up-to-date with what was taking place in the noble society.

At first, the Queen refused to believe this rumor as the child was even younger than the Princess.

However, when her husband had spoken highly of her, the Queen was curious to know more about the child who had gained such a good reputation at this young age.

Yvonne had been trying to minimize her presence ever since she had come forward with her parents but her efforts were nullified the moment the Queen had initiated this conversation with her.

“I only learn what the Marquess prepares for my classes, Your Majesty.” She made sure to sound respectful while also tossing the entire responsibility of her classes onto the tutor assigned to her.

Marquess Samed had been watching the entire show from the best spot in the Banquet Hall from the moment he had stepped in here.

However, he choked when he heard these innocent words coming from the mouth of his pupil.

‘She knows how to put on an act.’ He scowled inwardly but nodded when he saw the numerous gazes that had landed on him.

Though this gesture implied that she was right in saying so, the Marquess could only remain silent about the fact that she was the one who had finished the initial curriculum he had prepared for her.

Thanks to her monstrous speed of learning, he had to move her to higher grade classes that were meant for older children.

Even right now, Yvonne St. Claire was way ahead of the girls around her age.

‘Her current curriculum is the one for girls closer to the age of thirteen.’ He had both praise and disbelief whenever he thought of this.

However, he had been instructed to remain silent about her current reading level using the same threat that seemed to be working quite well on him.

Therefore, if he wished to remain a regular and loyal client of CLOVER, he needed to keep his mouth shut about this eight-year-old learning what other thirteen-year-olds were supposed to.

Unaware of the kind of thoughts going through the Marquess’ mind, the Queen’s doubts had been cleared and she nodded in appreciation of the young child.

Queen Zena, however, assumed that Yvonne St. Claire was a smart child who was at the level of the Princess and her playmates.

After all, she had been the first choice for the second playmate who for various reasons had later been given to the youngest daughter of the Kiron family.

Therefore, the Queen continued to be under the misconception that Yvonne was studying what those a year older than her were.

“The Earl and Countess should send the child to study with the Princess then.” She announced what her thoughts were, causing many to have different reactions to this startling news.
