The Body Guard carried the unconscious person and the group reached the Red Leaf City. It was not bad.

Along the way, Sheng Tian got a general gist of the situation, these people were from the Wei Family. The young master of the family, the 14-year-old boy was called Wei Shang. They are one of the two big families in the Red Leaf city along with the Shentu Family. They had a great influence in this area.

But as they say, Two tigers cannot share the same mountain. The two families always wanted to eliminate the other and claim the region for themselves.

Sheng Tian only nodded his head subconsciously. This was used too many times in novels and he felt like he was reading those parts again. He can even guess the next part that was going to happen.

And there was an ore mine discovered 2 months ago, both the families wanted the mine for themselves. But who in the right mind would back down? The situation escalated. In order to not let them directly go to the war as that would mean both families will be greatly weakened and a third party might finish them off, they came to an agreement.

And What would this agreement be? Of course, Sheng Tian knew it without saying, that should be a competition between the younger generation to decide the ownership. He read this too many times.

Needless to doubt, his speculation was right. The agreement was to let both the families sent a representative from their family and have a duel. Whoever wins the duel can own the mine for the next 5 years. The family can also let outsiders represent them.

As he was saying this, Wei Shang repeatedly mentioned that they would heavily award the representative if he won, hinting Sheng Tian that he can join. But Sheng Tian was not bothered, he just wanted to wander and meet some people. He is considering this as an experience. Besides what can they offer if they needed the help of someone like him. He can't be certain but he was more leaned towards sitting back and watching as things go.

But him coming to the city meant he was taking heavy risks, as the Shentu Family can easily guess that he might be a partly or fully reasonable for the failure of the assassination of Wei Shang.

But Sheng Tian still went to the town. He can be careful but he should not be scared. If he keeps on avoiding confrontation from people stronger than him, then how can there be opportunities?. He just has to be careful that the trouble is in the manageable range and the enemy is not ridiculously strong.

A life full of security without risks is not what he wants because if you want a good life, you need to take risks. He will fight with others for treasures in the future, so he shouldn't be feared of angering a family, right? He has to fight with others to protect his family in the future, so he shouldn't be afraid of making enemies. But, he will not make enemies just because he is not afraid. One less enemy means one less danger. If he can avoid making an enemy, Sheng Tian will definitely do it. But, if the enmity cannot be prevented, he will take them by roots to end the matter.

Sheng Tian calculated the pros and cons. He will take the risks and worst comes to worst, he will escape. He can also use the disguise which is very useful. So, having his way out, why should he not dare to go?

Sheng Tian also got to know that the competition would be in two days. Damn, isn't his timing too perfect? But again, considering the fact that Wei Shang was returning to his home for this event, it cannot be helped. Maybe he was really fated with this competition.

Sheng Tian and co. reached the manor of the Wei Family. The guards saw the Wei Shang and welcomed them politely. Once inside the manor, Wei Shang relieved the two guards of their duties and sent them to rest. He informed a servant about something and he left hurriedly. He took Sheng Tian to a room and Sheng Tian guessed that the must be the room be the Family Hall, a room where meetings were held and decisions where made.

When they entered the room there were already people within it, the positions were people sat had varying heights, in other words, it showed the status of the person. There were a total of 5 people in the Room including Sheng Tian and Wei Shang.

Wei Shang quickly took a step forward, bowing to the man on the highest seat and said " Father, this is Brother Ling Tian. He saved me when we were ambushed. I am very grateful to him. I brought him over to express the thanks."

The middle-aged man, who is sitting on the highest position, frowned when he heard the word " ambushed", but later he turned towards Sheng Tian and observed him for a while a later he said " Ling Tian, thank you for saving my son. Please be our guest and let us properly thank you." his tone didn't contain any gentleness and he simply said it for saying it. He treated it very casually. He called out to a servant to send him to the guest room.

Sheng Tian simply nodded his head and then followed a servant to his guest room.

After Sheng Tian left, Wei Shang was still standing in the room. A tall and sturdy Old man who looked to be in his eighties and with his positon being just below the highest seat, spoke up " Family Head, that kid is quite interesting. I can't sense his cultivation. He must be using some treasure. And I can tell that he is not from the Shentu Faction. Maybe we can benefit from him."

Wei Lei; the Wei Family Head and Wei Shang's Father, spoke but his tone was courteous indicating his respect to the other party" Grand Elder is wise. We can give him some rewards and send him off. But that Shentu Family is faster than us as they already tried assassination before we did. Hmph. We are late by one step. But how are we going to solve the problem of the competition, we might not guarantee a victory and besides, that little brat from Shentu Family is very talented and arrogant. She will most likely win if we don't do anything."

Wei Fang, the Grand Elder of the Wei Family, didn't answer instead he looked at Wei Shang who was standing in the hall obediently, he asked him " Little Shang, Is Ling Tian strong? If so, then how strong?"

The Sect Head came to a realization when he heard this and looked towards his son curiously.

Wei Shang thought back to the fight earlier and said: " He can kill those Nascent Soul Cultivators with a few strikes, he is very strong." and he went on explaining the whole thing.

Grand Elder frowned when he heard this, from what he heard, it seemed like this kid had some background. So, he might not agree with their request for the rewards. But when he heard Sheng Tian was passing by and was caught in the middle of the fight, his eyes brightened for some reason.

He then turned towards the Thin Old Man in the hall, who was sitting on the side and was silent the whole time and said " Head Elder, you know what to do. Think of a way to convince him to represent us in the duel." he said and left the hall without waiting for the response.

Meanwhile, the Family Head said to Wei Shang " You didn't hear anything, got it?" and left the hall to which Wei Shang who could only nod his head. Sheng Tian was sleeping but unlike his usual sleep, he was not completely asleep, rather he is in a half-sleep state meaning if there is any disturbance then he will wake up immediately. As he is in a place where he isn't completely safe, he has to be on guard.
