Heinrich was not ignorant of the fact of her father being in grave danger, so he encouraged and comforted Damia in a soft tone:

“Don’t worry. This plan will never fail.”

Heinrich was also doing his part. He cleverly used his brain to strike his enemies on the back of their heads when they least expected it. Who would guess they knew of their well-concealed deceit and would be audacious enough to enter the belly of the beast and rescue the real Saint after so many years?

“I made contact with the High Priest, who is in charge of the Great Shrine. They know I want to make a ‘deal’ for capturing the fake Saint.”

Heinrich laughed like a serpent, saying he had already scheduled the meeting. In this way, his purpose was disguised as a ‘trade,’ so he could keep them busy while Akkard and the team secretly infiltrated them from behind.

“And Lady Damia. I will make sure to reward you and your family for the loyalty you all have shown.”

Listening to Heinrich’s promise, Damia lowered her eyes in silence.

She honestly didn’t even want any compensation. Just… … she just wanted her one and only family–her beloved father– to return safely.

But since she couldn’t show her frailty in front of Heinrich, Damia simply and calmly replied,

“Our house is grateful for his Highness’ generosity.”

“Good, and you haven’t forgotten what I’ve asked of you?”

“Of course, my lord.”

Damia also had a role to play. While Akkard left for the North, she intended to mask his absence.

Heinrich was a talent who had been in politics since childhood and never wasted a single action or opportunity.

“Lord Akkard has a villa on the outskirts of the capital. I’d appreciate it if you and ‘Sir Akkard’ pretended to stay there and take vacation for a few days.”

They would employ a valuable trick by using the ample rumors amid social circles that Akkard was obsessed with Damia.

Fortunately, Akkard’s villa was located at the edge of a cliff, so it would be difficult for strangers to approach it easily.

“I’ve prepared a stand-in so we won’t be caught.”

Heinrich grinned with a smile. Akkard’s replacement that he personally chose was none other than Lessid Ferria.

Of course, Akkard was very vehemently opposed to this.

“Why the hell does it have to be that guy?!”

shouted Akkard as he smashed the table with his fist and clenched his teeth. Lessid and Damia seemed to already have a history and be involved.

He absolutely loathed how Lessid orbited around Damia so much that he was tempted to bury him alive. However, Heinrich had persuaded Akkard by supplying reasons one after another without even blinking an eye at his fiery protest.

“First of all. Lessid also has light hair color, if he bleached it, it would look like silver hair. Valerian’s silver hair is extremely rare.”

“Then we can use a wig or just color someone else’s hair!!”

“Secondly, he’s from the North, and very friendly with Lady Damia. As you’re well aware, Lady Damia is not very good at acting coy or being sly. If we put a stranger as your stand-in it would be too obvious.”

On this, Akkard couldn’t refute. In fact, the reason he hated Lessid so much was that, indeed, he was much ‘too friendly’ with Damia.

“I know how you feel, but let’s draw a clear line between our professional mission and private feelings.”

Heinrich clasped his hands together and smiled like a fox. Seeing that he would not change his mind, Akkard felt like he was about to explode.

But what could he do? He could not find a single fault with Heinrich’s reasoning, so he had no choice but to yield and step back.

‘I just have to complete the mission and finish up work as quickly as possible.’

And when he returned…. if he found out that Lessid put a hand on her, he would kill him by any means possible. Thinking that, Akkard’s eyes had a steel-like determination.

“Then, Lady Damia, you may go now. Soon the people I sent will help you pack up and leave for the villa.”

“I’ll leave then, your Highness.”

After gracefully curtsying, Damia left the meeting. Heinrich’s smile disappeared when he saw that she had departed.

“Sir Akkard, I have something to tell you.”

Sure enough, Heinrich had something to reveal with a grave expression.
