Damia thought briefly of her former stepbrother, who was imprisoned in the dungeon of the royal palace. By now, the news must have already reached his ears.

The hand he held and betted on, the High Temple, fell in vain. So, he is no longer the adopted son of the Primula family nor an important figure who was promised a future in the Great Shrine.

His conviction, as a commoner and an ex-convict, was to be decided sooner or later.

‘So before that, I’ll have to get an answer from Cesare.’

He was still the Saint’s only nephew, but Callistea didn’t seem to care. Still, when Heinrich asked her intentions implicitly, she cut him off.

‘Calyx did what a priest was not supposed to do. It must be the reason why that child, Cesare, lived such a chaotic life.’

A child who was born in violation of the Goddess’ rules just by existing. Although pitiful, if he returned to the bosom of the Goddess, Callistea said the Goddess would give him a new life.

If someone else said that, it would have sounded very cruel. But her existence as the Saint was so mysterious that when Callistea said it, it didn’t seem like she was murdering Cesare.

‘Rather than that, it feels like she’s sending him back into an endless cycle of reincarnation…. maybe.’

Anyway, she felt lucky that Callistea had healed Akkard. Although his body had not fully recovered, and the only thing she had repaired was his eyes, that was enough.

“How are your limbs, Akkard?”

Heinrich asked. There were signs of concern about Akkard’s arms and legs, which had torn or severed tendons due to torture.

Akkard lowered his eyes and tried to move his fingers. Although he was able to bend them, his speed was slower compared to before.

“They said it would take a year to rehabilitate.”

“A year.”

Heinrich’s face clouded. It was because he knew very well how harmful it was when a swordsman’s limbs were injured and broken.

‘Even after rehabilitation, he probably won’t be as good as he was in his prime.’

It was fortunate that Akkard came back alive, but he sacrificed too much. Heinrich felt very guilty about it.

He knew very well how much blood and sweat Akkard spent in training to attain his present position.

‘I hope that Lady Damia will also be aware of that.’

The prince was by her side as she fixed Akkard’s bandages as he glanced at Damia. Every day, she visited his ward to nurse him.

He heard that she even fed him soup herself since his arms were not healed. So, it was clear that she was inclined and also leaning towards Akkard.

The problem, however, was that Akkard became an utter fool in love. Where did all the splendid fame and confidence of his past go? Instead, he was hesitating, unable to take a chance.

The wounds inflicted every time he was rejected…. the fear made him a coward.

‘Anyway, he’s an idiot.’

Heinrich bit his tongue. Just then, Damia bent over Akkard.

“Ah, the dust here… … .”

Heinrich’s eyes lit up at the scene. He turned around and bumped into Damia quite naturally.

“Ooph!”

Damia collapsed on top of Akkard, who was lying down. Her eyes widened with her hands resting on his firm chest.

Surprisingly, Akkard was the same—very stunned. It was intimate contact he hadn’t had in a very long time. The moment the woman he had desired so much touched him, his body began to heat up.

His heart throbbed, pounding throughout his vast upper body. The body temperature under her palms was so hot that she rose up in astonishment.

“Oh my, I’m sorry,”

Heinrich added cheekily from behind and sneaked out. And he didn’t forget to drag Callistea out. [t1v: OP wingman]

“Take a good rest. Very intimately.”

Akkard and Damia were left alone in the bedroom in the blink of an eye.

Damia glanced at him under her long eyelashes. For some reason, there was an awkward atmosphere filled with tension, so she could barely peek at him.

Akkard opened his mouth in a calm voice.

“Damia.”

“Yes?”

“You’d better go too.”

“Why?” she was about to ask.

Instead, a moment caught her eye and cut off her tongue. A considerable bulge swelled and showed off its pride even under a thick blanket.

Facing the man’s naked desire, Damia’s face instantly heated up. Akkard spoke again to her, who was hesitating and fumbling at her wit’s end.
