Chapter 191

"Is there anything that I could move for you into the nursery?" Luke looked at Kitty and saw that was packing up the herbs and leaves.
"Luke, there is a mortar and pestle that I will ask you to move for me. In the bottom of the bag that you brought inside for me. I did not move it out of the bag because I am sure that I would get an earful from all of you about not lifting anything too heavy. So I left it in the bag. Did you not notice that the bag was somewhat heavy when you brought it inside for me?" Kitty watched as luke came into the room.
Luke walked in and went to the bag in question. He looked inside and pulled out the mortar and pestle, "I really didn't notice but if I think about it is kind of a heavy bag. It didn't bother me at the time but it is also not all that heavy for me. This is what you needed right?"
"Yes, thank you. I will have to sit on the floor to do this so you will hear some grinding sounds if it gets to be too much, let me know and I will stop and give your ears a break. I am not sure if it will be distracting to you or not." Kitty got up and carried the bag to the nursery. She set up the herb and leaves in separate piles. Luke set the items in front of Kitty and smiled, "You are so kind Mother. I didn't think that you would be so willing to help so many different people for nothing in return."
"The person whom I am helping is someone that Leo would like to help out. If it was not for the fact that Leo likes his boss I would not bother but Asurlon is supportive and has been since before I became the Advocate. I have never met this person but I heard plenty of good things about him. So I am willing to help those that need and deserve it. If it was someone that I never heard of or met before I would not be so willing to help." Kitty got back up and went back to the room and grabbed the square pieces of papers to place the ground herbs onto and a piece of paper towel.
Luke pulled out his pencil and started sketching once Kitty left the room. He focused on the sketch that he was working on and drowned out the rest of the world.
Kitty came back into the room and watched as Luke started to work on the sketch he started yesterday. Kitty picked up the first piece of paper and places it next to the mortar. Next, she picks up the green tea leaves she adds just a few in the bowl after placing the leaves in the bowl she starts to grind them using the pestle. She looked up at Luke and noticed that it did not seem to be bothering him. So she got in the zone and continued to grind the leaves and once the powder was down she placed it on the paper and added more leaves.
Sylvie popped into the house with Emerson and the two walked upstairs. Sylvie watched through the door and noticed that Kitty was chanting in her mind as she was grinding the herbs. 'You fool.' She walked behind Kitty and placed her hand over Kitty's eyes and said, "sleep." Kitty's body slumps over and Sylvie lifted her up.
Luke watched as Kitty was put to sleep, "HEY! What are you doing to my mother?"
Emerson stepped into the doorway and took Kitty from Sylvie. "Remember that she is not well and should not be using her powers or else she will bring more harm to herself. Are we going to stay here or move her to our place?"
"Do not worry, Luke I only put her to sleep. She needs to rest more than you could imagine. I can not risk her unlocking more seals that are placed on her. My powers are already weakened because of her. I will not allow her to break any more seals. So at this point, I will keep a close watch on her. I do not want to block her from doing what she wants but I will be keeping her asleep for now. Emerson, we will stay here for now. I believe her room is across from this room. You can lay her down on the bed. I will be there momentarily."
"Okay." Emerson turned and carried Kitty across the hallway and opened the door then laid her down on the bed while sighing. "You trouble maker, Kitsune."
Luke looked up at Sylvie and noticed that she was staring at the herbs. "Are you able to tell what mother is doing?"
"This is something that is not well known but because she takes my essence I can tell when she uses her power. As soon as she started grinding the herbs I could instantly tell what she was up to. So for the rest of the da,y I will keep a close eye on her and make sure that she sleeps. I will let her awaken for food but if Kitty does not sleep more, then she will break the next seal. I can already feel the seal slipping." Sylvie lets out a sigh. "You are free to do as you please I will be closing the door and try to secure that seal from breaking. You will smell blood but it will be mine and Emerson's I suggest that no one enters the room." Sylvie turned and left the room.
Luke watched as Sylvie walked away. 'Mother, why are you pushing yourself so much?' After he hears the door close he gets up and sits outside the room and as Sylvie said the scent of blood was in the air.
Sylvie locked the door and walked towards Kitty. "If you weren't the way you are, I wouldn't have to put you to sleep. I know you can hear me. Stop fighting the sleep. You are about to break the next seal. My brother is not ready to give you his blood so I have no choice but to give you more of mine." She used her nail and cut down her forearm and brought the dripping blood to Kitty's mouth.
Kitty stopped fighting the sleep and licked the blood and slowly drank what was offered to her. ~This is not safe for you to do.~ Kitty stopped drinking and laid her head back down on the bed.
Sylvie dipped her finger in her blood and traced the ancient words on Kitty's arm. "Whether it is safe or not doesn't matter. You will die if I do not do it. I can not let the last hope die." Sylvie says this while tears roll down her cheeks.
