When I set my eyes on Shiran-san, I had a faint feeling that it could be her. . .

Although I think of that girl as my destined partner, we only exchanged some words for a few minutes at a dinner party. Moreover, several years have passed since then. The girl that day also grew up during those years, so her appearance may have changed.

Above all, Shiran-san didn’t seem to recognize me at all. Even if she was the girl, there was always the possibility she wouldn’t recognize me at first. . . Though there is no doubt that Shiran-san seemed aware of me during our first meeting. But that wasn’t enough to be convinced.

I can’t live in doubt forever. And it will be a hassle if I involve Margaret, so I had to create an opportunity to meet Shiran-san soon. While I was thinking about how to do it, Shiran-san conveniently came to the student room.

I thought it was a great opportunity to check and see if it was the girl. I also put out the special souffle cakes made for visitors, I knew this was good enough to keep her here with Margaret not being here. I was a little surprised that Shiran-san was so eager to eat, but thanks to that, it became easier to cut to the point. So I asked her that question.

“Cosmos-san is Cosmos-san, Don’t let others decide for you. You know yourself best. So now matter how you live. . .I think Cosmos-san knows themself best.”

The moment she said that, my heart began to race.

No doubt. Shiran-san is the girl that changed my life. I know for sure.

I felt like I was floating. Because of that, I was too late on the draw to notice Shiran-san’s fall. I could only reach out to the staggering girl. But she was out of reach, and fell to the wall, hitting her head.

“Watch out!!”

A loud noise reverberated in the room, drowning out my cry. I stared at the collapsed Shiran-san for a few seconds. . .Once my sanity returned, I rushed to Shiran-san.

There was no blood. However she was not conscious. Cold sweat dripped down my head. Even though we finally reunited, why did this have to happen?

No, it’s not the time to be cursing destiny.

“Hold on Shiran-san, I’ll be right back.”

I rushed to call the nurse. As the vice president, it is bad to see me running down the hallway. So I tried to go through the courtyard and take the shortest route. At that time I saw a group of students preparing something in the center of the courtyard. It was then I caught the sight of Margaret.

“Margaret. . .!!”

“Oh Cosmos. Don’t be running in the hallway. Oh, if you have some spare time, do you mind helping me with something.”

I can’t afford to have Margaret go on a tangent.

“No not right now. . .Shiran-san fainted!!”

“””What!??!”””

Hearing my cry, Margaret and students behind her yelled in surprise.

“Anyways, I’ll get the nurse! You look after Shiran-san, she is in the student council room.”

Giving her the bare minimum, I continued my journey towards the medical office.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Hey, Camellia. It’s Shiran’s birthday today, so I was wondering if we could set up a surprise party?”
It was Iris-san that came up with the idea. It seems that she had recovered her relationship with Shiran-san after the day of the ball. I know that the relationship between the two was important to both of them, so it’s relieving to hear they got it back.
I myself have been indebted to Shiran-san for coming with me to my home the other day. So of course I’ll agree to a surprise party.
When I tried to answer, a familiar voice came from behind.
“I think that’s a wonderful idea. As the student council president, I will help you in this endeavor to celebrate a student.”
“I’m sure Shiran-sama will be happy. . .I’ll help you.”
“I wonder if giving Shiran-chan my body would be a good president? If that’s a possibility, I’m all in.”
President Margaret, Anemone-san, and Lily-san. . . They always appear unexpectedly. Don’t they have anything better to do? Well, the more people there are, the more elaborate the party can be. However Lily’s surprise gift is absolutely rejected.
As we were preparing the scene, the sounds of somebody running came closer. Looking back towards the noise, it was the vice president of the student council.
Well she has nothing to do with us. So I went back to my work, when  suddenly some words made my ears jump.
“No, now isn’t the time. . .Shiran-san has fainted!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

 I messed up. . .

I, Lily Michelet, have unfortunately failed this morning.

On the day of Shiran-chan’s birthday, I was assigned the role of keeping her away from the surprise party location.

So originally, If I just asked her to kill time with me after school that would be good enough, but. . .I saw the potential, and thought, why not also stay with me in the morning? The devils in my head got the best of me.

And my prank may have gone too far, it was too much to take out the collar. Well, I can’t deny that I was half serious about it.

For that reason, Shiran-chan escaped from me after school.

I’m an idiot, an idiot!

This might make everybody mad at me. . .While looking for Shiran-chan, I saw Camellia and the others running towards me from the hallway.

What happened? I know I messed up, so I stopped and prepared to get lectured.

However, they all ignored me and ran past. I don’t know why.

It was Anemone at the back that called out to me with an upset and pale face.

“Shiran-sama. . .Shiran-sama has fainted.”

. . . Eh?

For a second I couldn’t process it. Anemone-chan after saying that continued to chase after Camellia and them.

Shiran-chan. . .Fainted? Was it because I wasn’t watching her?

The reality sank heavy into me, I couldn’t even muster myself to move for a while.
