Chapter 4: If you Look into the Abyss, the Abyss Looks Back. . .
When the sunsets, most girls leave to take baths and wash away the fatigue of the day.
There is a large public bath in the dormitories of Manjurika Academy. As expected of a fancy rich school, the facilities are amazing. It’s truly built for the high class.
Although it is nice, it has a long history behind them. I’ve heard that it goes far enough back to my grandmother’s generation.
Although it has been refurbished many times, there are some parts that have not been repaired.
One of them is a gap crack in the wall that separates the large communal bath from the storage room.
Why am I telling you this? Well, I was hiding in the storage room with Iris.
Why are we doing this? Well, of course it’s to appreciate the figures of the bathing young ladies.
“I don’t understand why you are doing this. Shiran, you’re also a girl. So why not just go into the bathhouse normally?”
“That’s pointless. Iris you know nothing.”

She signed in amazement to my answer, as we whispered to each other. She really doesn’t get it. There is a reason I’m doing that.
It goes like this. The day I found out there was a large communal bath, I rushed to it with a waiting breath. My eyes were shining with expectation.

“There is no thrill to just doing that. The heart pumps when you try not to get caught. It’s about the thrill and romance that is important.”

Regardless, if I enter the bathhouse as a girl normally, I’m not that excited. Rather, it feels like I was just taking a bath casually.

While pretending not to notice, I slowly looked around the storage room.
And then. . . I noticed the door to the storage room was slightly opened.
“There, somebody is there, I know it.”
“Oi! Show yourself!”
I faced the door and called out, Iris followed by then raising her confused voice.
At that, there was a rustling noise at the door. When somebody tumbled through.
“Ahh. . .Uuu. . .Hiii. . .”
It was a female student. I recognize her, but I don’t think I met her as Shiran.
“Uh, it’s a misunderstanding. . .Uh. . .I’m sorryyyyyyyyy”
“Anemone. . ?”
She was frightened by the glaring Iris, that she broke immediately and apologized. This was one of the heroines in “Flower of Eden.” Anemone-san.
No way, why is Anemone here? She is supposed to be a graceful heroine. Did she change jobs into a peeping tom?
Well, I was also a peeping tom, so I can’t throw a rock in a glass house.
“It’s different. . .I was only watching Shiran-sama as usual, when I noticed you guys go together into the storage room. . .I was really worried.”

Now that I think about it. I do remember experiencing a similar shock immediately after enrollment. It was something I completely suppressed.
I think that is enough for today. That is the conclusion I came to. I trembled up and left the peeping tom. . . Anemone. . .
