Chapter 6: Tea Time Became Chaotic

It’s easy to forget because I spend everyday with these people, but all girls who attend this school are daughters of aristocrats and wealthy businessmen.

Well almost everyone with some exceptions, but if I start pointing those out we will be here forever, so I’ll ignore those.

What I want to say is that there are many customs unique to wealthy girls.

One of them is afterschool tea.

We gather in close groups and factions, to then enjoy a light meal with tea and scones. Then the girl talks blooms.

In my case, I’m often surrounded by two people. Camellia and Iris. This is the villainess girl’s entourage after all.

But truthfully, are Iris and I good company for this?

Seeing as we are both noble girls it should be okay despite being troublemakers. But still, we aren’t as good as a duchess like Camelia, we are just countesses. Iris and I never frequently did these, so our performance is lackluster. Camellia also brings up her dissatisfaction with that, and often tells us we need to act according to our noble status. I don’t really want to be aware of that, so please forgive me if I ignore it.

I guess in a broad sense, I did have tea time with Onee-sam. . . President Margarete in the student council room yesterday.

Because it happened so suddenly, I didn’t come with a light meal. Though some treats the president had were quite interesting.

I must say, ever since I’ve become Shiran, I’ve come to really like sweets.

I was on my way, but as I approached our designated tea room, I was stabbed by Lily with her nail.  She then joined me.

It’s been a long time since Camellia suddenly pushed forward this large afternoon tea. . .

But I wonder why there are so many people around the table. It’s pretty crowded.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“As Shiran’s roommate, I believe I have the right to sit next to her.”
“. . .Don’t just decide that.”
Lily then sat down right next to me with a natural expression.
On my other side was a dissatisfied Iris glaring at her.
Lily ignored it and innocently began to spread fruit jam over a tart.
“Lily-san. For the time being, do not decide on your own, as I have arranged this.”
“Listen, I get it, but I can’t stand it anymore. Camellia, you have never invited me, don’t you think that is malicious?”
“Guu. . .”
Speaking of which, it is true that Lily had never forced her way into our other afternoon tea sessions. Even if she is rotten, she is a noble girl. Does she understand the etiquette around that?
Infact, Camellia even said “Guu” as if it was done maliciously. Is the villainess feeling guilty. . ?
“. . .Well then, I’ll join you.”
“””Kyaa!?!?”””
Suddenly, a face appeared from underneath the table. It was Anemone, who seems to have changed her job to stalker.
It was Iris, Camellia, and I who screamed in surprise.
Appearing like that is bad for the heart, so please forgive me for yelling. For me to be “kyaa”ing is embarrassing. . .
Actually, why was Lily so calm? Did she notice from the start? No, that’s impossible.
“I’m not giving up my seat by Shiran.”
“Um, Shiran-chan is next to me?”
“. . . Uuu.”
Lily and Iris sat on both of my sides and protested.
I don’t think you’d really get anything from sitting next to me. So why are these two so weird about it. And Anemone doesn’t have to look so deflated.
Wait! No! Don’t just go back under the table! That’s creepy!
After finding out about Anemone, I was really scared. I was even afraid to go to the bathroom alone that night.
“Ara Ara, What a coincidence, everyone is here. I wonder if you will let me participate.”
“Wow, it’s definitely not a coincidence. . .”
The president said that as she joined our session.
Iris responded as her face turned increasingly pained.
“Fufufu. If it’s not a coincidence, this may be fate, right? Shiran-san.”
“Eh?. . .Yes. Onee-sama.”
“Hey!? Shiran-chan come back to us!”
Onee-sama. . . What the hell. As soon as the president called out to me, my consciousness became a blur.
Lily’s panicked voice revived me immediately.
Maybe I’m just short on sleep? I should go to bed early today.
“I won’t give up the seat next to Shiran.”
“Shrian-chan’s seat is next to me.”
And then Lily and Iris claimed their position. I really don’t get what is so special about it.
“Of course. It’s no problem. I already have a determined place.”
Well that’s fine. You can sit anywhere. . .
Uh, wait. . .What the? President, why did you lift me up?
While I stiffened from not knowing what to do, she lifted me up and sat me on her lap as she took my seat.
“President, this is. . .”
“Yes. Ahhh.”
“Eh?. . .ah.”
She presented the treats she brought to my mouth.
I unintentionally opened my mouth because of the sweet smell, and confusion.
Wow, this is insanely delicious. Did she make it herself? Please give me more, more!
“Dah. . .Shiran is chewy like a squirrel, it’s too cute.”
“I want to lick up the food scraps on Shiran-chan’s mouth.”
“Shrian-sama is an angel. . .”
“Ufufufufu.”
I think everybody but Camellia is talking, but forget that. These scones are amazing! It’s the best combo to have with some black tea.
After all was said and done, this afternoon tea ended pretty nicely.
The fruit tart prepared by Lily was also the best, and to be honest. I was very satisfied. This may be heaven.
“I’d like to make a suggestion, but it seems like we’ll just enjoy the afternoon tea. . .”
For some reason, Camellia gave a large dejected sigh.
I’m not sure what’s going on, but thank you for your hard work.
