Martha and Damian were extremely skilled in close combat and the use of their weapons. They used all kinds of skills and techniques and together, they would have been able to defeat an average early Advanced Cultivator. Their teamwork was great and matched with their power and skill they were an incredible duo, but still couldn't handle the power of two powerful elemental affinities.
