I don’t know if this answer is too intriguing, but Pei Xia thought that Lucifer would directly refute it as before. However, to his surprise, he actually uttered these four words.

Pei Xia’s little heart raced, at times feeling ambiguous, at times thinking he was too self-absorbed, at times unable to resist daydreaming, and at times sinking into self-doubt.

When he saw Lucifer’s expression, he suddenly had some insight.

Right, His Lordship is a virgin, and he is a serious person. He might not understand feelings as well as I do, having read many novels and watched TV dramas!

Pei Xia clenched his fists, a mixture of sorrow and joy. He thought, maybe he should take this opportunity to test Lucifer’s attitude and then make a clear decision, sparing himself from turmoil.

How can I, Pei Xia, a pure zero, make Lucifer happy?

He only hoped that Lucifer hadn’t fallen for him already.

“Your Grace,” Pei Xia’s voice trembled slightly, “What do you mean by that? Do you really have such intentions towards your subordinate?”

Lucifer furrowed his brows, his gaze avoiding Pei Xia’s, because, like Pei Xia, his inner world was far from calm.

Some things seemed to have slipped out of his control without him even noticing.

By now, Lucifer could no longer deceive himself with the idea of merely playing around with Pei Xia.

He did like him, and not just a little.

This realization brought a sense of fear to Lucifer. He recalled his initial thoughts and found them somewhat ridiculous. But admitting it so directly was still hard for him.

What about Pei Xia? Lucifer admitted that he was already deeply immersed in this game, but what did Pei Xia think?

Suddenly, Lucifer reached out and cradled Pei Xia’s cheek.

Pei Xia was startled and instinctively wanted to dodge, but he didn’t avoid it. His face was held by that cold hand, and when Lucifer applied slight pressure, Pei Xia had no choice but to look at him directly.

Pei Xia’s heart was in turmoil, and he couldn’t help but worry about whether the coldness of Lucifer’s hand meant he was freezing.

Or perhaps, is it because he’s not in a good mood?

“Your Grace, what’s wrong?” Pei Xia asked stiffly, “Did I guess wrong? If I’ve offended you, please forgive me.”

Lucifer raised the corner of his mouth, a wry smile on his face. “I’m just thinking, does your heart still belong to the God of Light, or can it belong to someone else?”

Pei Xia felt like he’d been struck by lightning, looking into Lucifer’s eyes with profound sadness.

Lucifer felt a bit unsettled under his gaze. Clearly, he was the one in the dominant position right now, but there was a hint of pity in Pei Xia’s eyes.

Pei Xia thought to himself, ‘I’m in trouble! His Lordship likes me!’

Gritting his teeth, Pei Xia said, “Please believe me; my heart belongs to the God of Light, and I’m not interested in anything else!”

After saying this, he covered his face with his hand, unable to bear looking at Lucifer’s expression.

Lucifer, holding Pei Xia’s cheek, couldn’t help but exert a little pressure, gritting his teeth. He was infuriated by the knight’s resolute and devout declaration, and impulsivity made him lose his composure.

“I’ll ask you again, Pei Xia, do you truly have no other thoughts about me?”

Pei Xia’s body trembled, almost shedding tears like a tough guy. ‘So, Your Grace, you’ve already rooted deep feelings for me!’

‘No, I can’t delay him!’ Pei Xia took a deep breath, put down his hand covering his face, and looked at Lucifer with red-rimmed eyes, nodding firmly. “That’s right, I absolutely have no other thoughts!”

Lucifer decisively held both of Pei Xia’s cheeks with his hands, then leaned in slowly. His perfect appearance was a powerful weapon, directly disturbing Pei Xia’s breathing, and his heart was in chaos.

‘What did he want to do? He was getting too close!’

Pei Xia blushed, his gaze shifting, wanting to refuse but unable to resist the temptation.

This, this, Lucifer was taking the initiative.

Fortunately, before the situation slipped into irreparable territory, Lucifer stopped. He was extremely close, and his captivating breath made Pei Xia’s whole body feel hot.

Suddenly, Lucifer frowned and said, “This isn’t right.”

Pei Xia huffed, “What’s not right?”

Lucifer, looking at his flushed eyes and cheeks, with a hint of anticipation and inexplicable pain, guilt, and resistance in his eyes, realized that something was amiss.

Pei Xia clearly had his own thoughts about Lucifer!

“Why didn’t you move away?” Lucifer’s mood suddenly brightened. As they say, the heart of the Holy Son changes as easily as May’s weather. He smiled sincerely and asked, “There must be a reason for you to act this way.”

Lucifer’s curiosity was instantly piqued, and he looked forward to the day when the truth would be revealed. At that time, come what may, Pei Xia shouldn’t think of hiding anymore.

To which Pei Xia replied, “Thanks for the reminder!”

He shifted his body, turned his head, and slid his legs backward, distancing himself from Lucifer.

He managed to evade!

Lucifer maintained the ambiguous posture, not having a chance to change it yet.

Pei Xia knelt on the ground and innocently looked at him, asking, “Do you have any other questions, Your Grace?”

Lucifer slowly sat up, retracting his hand, and said, “I do.”

“What?”

“Why is your face red?”

Pei Xia suddenly opened his collar and fanned himself with his hand. “It’s summer, and I’m hot!”

“And your eyes are red!”

Pei Xia immediately raised his hand to rub his eyes and sniffled. “There’s sand in my eyes!”

Lucifer took a deep breath, biting back a laugh. “Alright, you said it yourself.”

Pei Xia nodded repeatedly, “I did, I did!”

So Lucifer smiled faintly, shifted his body, and gracefully reclined on the couch.

Pei Xia: “Your Grace?!”

He suddenly jumped up, rushing over to support the upper body of Lucifer. He felt the man’s body temperature was icy cold, light as a feather as if he were a favored child of heaven, radiating a soft glow that kept the interior of the slightly dim carriage bright.

Combined with his pale complexion and weary expression, it seemed like he might turn into specks of light and ascend to the sky at any moment.

“What’s wrong with you?” Pei Xia worriedly held his hand.

“It’s nothing,” Lucifer weakly replied. “I just feel deeply sad.”

“Why?” Pei Xia almost cried. “Is it because of me?”

Lucifer: “You said it yourself.”

Pei Xia: “Are you feeling better?”

Lucifer: “Cough, cough!”

As long as he hadn’t explicitly said it, it wasn’t a loss! This could be considered as the fierce desire for victory in Lucifer’s struggle for survival.

Pei Xia sighed and shook his head, saying, “Your Grace, I’m not worthy of you. You will surely find someone who deserves you.”

A glistening teardrop slowly slid from the corner of the Holy Son’s eye.

The two remained silent, gazing at each other, both with the same question in their hearts: Why?

In the end, Pei Xia’s arms were getting tired, so he gently placed Lucifer back on the couch and covered him with a blanket.

Pei Xia lowered his head and said hesitantly, “Your Grace, I’ll leave for now. Please calm down on your own.”

Making a difficult decision, Pei Xia turned and left the carriage.

But he couldn’t shake off his worries completely, fearing that Lucifer’s fragile heart might lead him to make an impulsive decision. So, he sat on a horse and quietly approached the side of the carriage, peeking through the window from time to time to check on Lucifer’s condition.

Lucifer lay on the couch, covered with a blanket, motionless, as if his heart were ashes.

Pei Xia thought, ‘So His Lordship has such deep feelings for me. It’s ridiculous that I used to think he was jealous of my manly qualities when it’s clearly desire!’

Lucifer muttered, “When did he leave? It’s so hot.”

The two remained silent as they continued on their journey, finally arriving at the first major city at the border of the Orc Kingdom, Smibabaka.

Smibabaka was rugged in appearance, with walls and gates made entirely of stone. The architecture inside was influenced by various races, with a variety of styles, including wooden buildings favored by humans and large tents made from animal hides.

Entering the city was not difficult, as many human merchants camped here to rest due to its proximity to the grassland border. The city had a bustling and friendly atmosphere, as well as a strong commercial presence.

Afterward, they rented a small courtyard to rest, as there was no sub-church of the Church of the God of Light here.

After settling in, Pei Xia couldn’t continue being as distant as he had been before. He decided to break the awkward atmosphere between him and Lucifer.

Pei Xia took the initiative and asked, “Your Grace, would you like to go out, explore, and experience the local culture, or would you prefer to dine in the courtyard?”

Lucifer got up listlessly, seemingly still not over what Pei Xia thought was his unrequited love. He said, “Since we’re here, we might as well go out. If we don’t understand this place, we won’t be able to spread the radiance of the God of Light, right?”

“Yes, Your Grace!”

Pei Xia and the group accompanied Lucifer as they went out. In the Orc Kingdom, humans were a rarity, so no one should recognize Lucifer. There was no need for any disguise.

However, not being recognized was one thing, and Lucifer’s extraordinary beauty was another!

In the presence of such unparalleled beauty that surpassed the limits of humans, left the elves in the dust, and rivaled even the orcs themselves, even the orcs couldn’t help but be awestruck.

With a 300% head-turning rate, those astonished orcs unconsciously moved closer to this side, causing a traffic jam.

Pei Xia, focused on guarding Lucifer’s safety, couldn’t help but furrow his brow and hold onto Lucifer’s wrist. Otherwise, they might have been pushed apart.

Orcs had relatively straightforward and passionate minds, especially when pursuing a mate, they could be quite impulsive. Therefore, an orc couldn’t help but push through the crowd to stand in front of Lucifer and say, “Beautiful human, I really like you. Please tell me your name!”

Pei Xia: “…”

Another orc kicked the guy away and patted her ample chest, saying, “Human, don’t be afraid. I’m gentler than him. Please tell me your name!” Surprisingly, it was a female orc!

In no time, irreparable chaos had broken out, and Lucifer’s group had no choice but to retrace their steps. The large group of orcs continued to follow them, unwilling to give up.

After finally returning to the small courtyard, everyone, except Lucifer, was sweating. Pei Xia wiped his forehead and, panting, looked at Lucifer.

“Your Grace, please rest first. Should we have our meal in the courtyard?”

Lucifer seemed to be in another world, gave him a faint look, forced a smile, and sighed

What did that look mean?

Pei Xia felt a pang in his heart. Could it be that Lucifer hadn’t given up?

“Please don’t be sad. You’ll definitely find the right person!”

Lucifer smiled slyly, “Is that so? Do you really think so?”

Before Pei Xia could answer, he turned and entered the house.

Outside the small courtyard, the boisterous noise of the orcs continued, even though they were locked outside and seemed reluctant to give up easily.

After some thought, Pei Xia took a deep breath and made a resolute decision.

There were strong, manly, and hormonally charged guys nearby!

He strode out of the courtyard, and dozens of excited gazes turned toward him with a rustling sound. They seemed somewhat disappointed not to see the golden-haired beauty.

Pei Xia cleared his throat and looked around. “Why are you all gathered here?”

A nearly two-meter-tall orc grinned and scratched his head. “I just wanted to wait for your master to come out and pursue him! Um, can you tell me, do you know what he likes?”

Pei Xia nodded solemnly, ‘Of course, he likes me.’

But he couldn’t say that.

“Please give us a chance!” Another orc ran from afar, holding a bouquet of flowers. “I just want to give him these flowers!”

Pei Xia clenched his fist. “A chance can be given, but it must go through a selection process. You cannot harass His Lordship!”

“Is His Lordship his name?” The orc seemed confused. “Well, then, how should we go through the selection process?”

Pei Xia said, “First, you need to have a strong body, a handsome face, be clean with no unpleasant odors, have no bad habits, be honest, kind, caring, empathetic, and it’s even better if you believe in the God of Light.”
