Pei Xia, holding the bouquet, stumbled a couple of steps forward. A chilly night breeze blew past, and with a sharp sound, the door closed behind him.

Once he regained his balance, he raised his gaze, only to meet a slightly surprised look from Lucifer.

Lucifer was dressed in a nearly translucent white robe, leaning against the bedside, reading a book beside a small table with a fragrant glass of holy wine.

“Pei Xia.”

Lucifer looked at the nervous and trembling Pei Xia, who was clutching the bouquet tightly in his arms. His heart was filled with a burning desire, but on the surface, he remained pure, innocent, and harmless.

Pei Xia took a deep breath, strode to the edge of the bed, and presented the flowers to him with his eyes closed, his body tensed, and his cheeks turning red. He said with determination, “Fei Fei, these are for you!”

Lucifer sat up, accepted the bouquet, and said, “Thank you.”

After a while, Pei Xia remained in the same position, still silent.

Lucifer couldn’t bear it any longer and gently pulled his lips into a faint smile. He decided to break the silence, “Pei Xia, thank you for the flowers. I really like them.”

Pei Xia shivered and finally opened his eyes. He hurriedly responded, “You’re welcome, it’s my pleasure!”

Lucifer gazed at him, a mixture of teasing and affection in his eyes, soft as the tendrils of a jellyfish in the deep sea, wrapping around, intoxicating and maddening.

In the gentle and warm light, the golden-haired beauty held the vibrant red flowers, making him appear even more ethereal and extraordinary. Pei Xia looked at this captivating scene, and his affection for him bubbled up like boiling water, leaving him feeling weak in the knees. He took a step closer, but his body wobbled unsteadily.

Lucifer lightly tilted his head and asked with a smile, “Hmm? What’s wrong?”

Pei Xia walked over to him, feeling all soft and shaky, “N-nothing.”

Lucifer gently commented, “Why did you suddenly bring me flowers?” It was just a casual question, but for the anxious Pei Xia, it felt like a thunderclap.

He startled and his legs went weak, causing him to plop onto the bed, conveniently sitting on Lucifer’s long legs.

The two of them gazed at each other in silence, and Lucifer displayed a faint smile.

“Pei Xia, you’re so proactive.”

Meanwhile, Pei Xia was inwardly lamenting, ‘I’m so embarrassing, not assertive at all!’

In a room with only two men, especially since they were lovers, with Pei Xia appearing particularly charming that night, it was evident that something was going to happen. Even a fool could figure it out.

Lucifer gazed at Pei Xia with affection in his eyes, and he put the flowers on the bedside table. He wanted to tease him a bit, so he purposely asked, “Pei Xia, why are you so nervous?”

Pei Xia’s throat moved as he stammered, “I-it’s nothing!”

Lucifer chuckled, thinking that if they continued like this, they would just be staring at each other the whole night without doing anything else.

He had a deep affection for the person in front of him, and if it were possible, he wanted to make him completely his.

So, Lucifer took the initiative, extending his hand to cup Pei Xia’s cheek and said, “Pei Xia, I’m very happy tonight, and I—”

Before he could finish his sentence, Pei Xia suddenly stood up.

Lucifer’s hand dropped to the bed, and he was momentarily bewildered. He looked up at Pei Xia, his eyes practically turning into two big question marks.

Pei Xia clenched his fists tightly, his expression serious, his body trembling with excitement. Then, he shouted, “Wait a moment!”

Without further ado, he swiftly turned around and rushed out as if his pants were on fire. His figure disappeared into the vast night, leaving a bewildered and speechless Lucifer on the bed, filled with anticipation.

He ran… He ran like this at the crucial moment?!

Lucifer’s flawless face, perfect beyond any criticism, twisted slightly for a moment. His gaze instantly darkened, and a terrifying aura enveloped the entire room. Outside the door, the shadowy demon who excelled in both power and reputation was trembling in the shadows.

‘May the gods bless me, or rather, great Lord, please don’t remember me…’

Inside the room, Lucifer slowly stood up, barefoot, and walked out. Step by step, he walked as if through empty space.

His figure gradually faded, and his charismatic form, clad in a nightgown, was gradually concealed by darkness. In the end, he was perfectly hidden in the night, completely invisible.

Without hesitation, he headed in the direction of Pei Xia.

He wanted to see where Pei Xia would run off to when faced with such a situation!

Pei Xia sprinted through the night, the chilly wind blowing across his face, which helped clear his slightly muddled head. He couldn’t help but clench his fist and lightly hit his own head. What was he doing?

He really wanted to make progress with Lucifer, but he was genuinely nervous and afraid. He was nervous about what would happen next, and he was afraid of performing poorly.

Pei Xia shook his head vigorously, his heart, lungs, and courage trembling simultaneously. He finally dashed into a small tavern.

Silent, Pei Xia approached the bar and ordered the house specialty. His mind was heavily burdened, and he had no interest in hearing the bartender’s description of the drink’s name or how delicious it was.

After paying, Pei Xia raised the glass and took several large gulps.

The ice-cold strong liquor went down his throat. The next moment, it felt like a fire was burning through his throat and into his stomach, making it feel warm and cozy. Pei Xia drank too quickly and couldn’t help but burp.

As they say, alcohol bolsters a person’s courage. Under the influence of alcohol, Pei Xia, who was nervous and afraid, felt like he was ready again!

But it’s not enough.

Usually, virgins are likely to perform not very well. Pei Xia tightened his grip on the glass, his expression very serious.

He did have these concerns. After all, he had no prior experience, and he wasn’t particularly interested in the matter to begin with. Now, entering the battlefield for the first time, he might embarrass himself right away.

No, absolutely not!

Pei Xia gritted his teeth and swore to leave a good impression on Lucifer. Pei Xia’s pure heart had its own romantic aspirations.

So, after downing a large glass of liquor, Pei Xia mustered his courage and discreetly signaled the bartender for assistance.

“Excuse me, sir,” the bartender, an orc of an unknown species with a furry tail, approached, wagging his tail playfully.

Pei Xia extended his finger and motioned for him to lean closer, exuding an air of mystery, which piqued the bartender’s curiosity. “Do you have something to ask?”

Pei Xia clenched his teeth and asked, “Do you have… that kind of medicine?”

The bartender’s tail froze momentarily, showing his puzzlement. “What medicine?”

“That kind of medicine,” Pei Xia replied, growing impatient. “The kind that men take, you know?!”

“Oh, I see!” The bartender’s expression suddenly became enlightened, and a hint of lecherousness mixed into his previously polite smile.

“Please wait a moment.” The bartender hurried away and returned with a small package of dark powder, which he discreetly handed to Pei Xia.

“Does this stuff really work?” Pei Xia was starting to feel a bit tipsy as he looked at the small packet in his hand.

The bartender smiled and assured him, “Don’t worry. It guarantees that you’ll stand tall all night!”

Hearing this, Pei Xia felt somewhat embarrassed. He instinctively tried to save face. “It’s not for me; it’s for someone else.”

The bartender chuckled and said, “I understand, I understand.”

Pei Xia looked at the bartender, feeling a bit frustrated with the situation.

He knows nothing! If it weren’t for love, would he even bother?

And standing behind Pei Xia, unnoticed by anyone, Lucifer, upon hearing the phrase “for someone else,” narrowed his eyes.

For someone else?

Without a doubt, that “someone else” was him, right?!

Lucifer looked at Pei Xia with complex feelings. He felt amused and somewhat annoyed. Was he really that inadequate in Pei Xia’s eyes? To the point where Pei Xia sat on the bed and suddenly ran out to buy medicine.

It seemed that he had overplayed his vulnerability, making Pei Xia doubt his own abilities in this aspect.

Pei Xia: I can’t be inadequate!

Lucifer: I’m more than capable.

Today, the holy son and the knight continued to display their heartfelt misunderstanding of each other.

After buying the medicine, Pei Xia stumbled back toward the courtyard. When he was about halfway back to the small courtyard, he remembered what the bartender had said: take the medicine ten minutes before going in.

Pei Xia opened the small packet, opened his mouth, closed his eyes, and swallowed the black powder in one gulp.

Cough, it’s a bit bitter and astringent.

Pei Xia quickly leaned against the wall and ran back to the courtyard. He went to the kitchen first and drank a couple of mouthfuls of water to clean his mouth before rushing to Lucifer’s room.

Lucifer, deep in thought, wasn’t aware that Pei Xia had already taken the medicine. He sat at the bedside, his expression not particularly cheerful. Hearing the door creak, he looked up with a profound gaze.

Pei Xia closed the door behind him and, fueled by the impulse brought on by alcohol, rushed over to Lucifer.

Lucifer lightly furrowed his brows and had just started to call Pei Xia’s name when he saw Pei Xia reach forward and place both of his hands on the bedside table next to Lucifer’s head.

He initiated a “wall slam.”

Then, Pei Xia kicked off his shoes and, still in the wall slam position, climbed onto the bed, half kneeling, half sitting on Lucifer’s lap, his expression unusually serious.

Lucifer looked up at him and thought that he seemed even more proactive than before. Did he realize that suddenly running off earlier was a mistake, so he wanted to make amends?

Lucifer raised an eyebrow, “Pei Xia, what’s wrong with you?”

Pei Xia stared at him intently, solemnly opening his mouth, “Hiccup.”

He let out a hiccup.

Lucifer: “…”

“Fei Fei.”

Perhaps it was the effect of the strong liquor tonight, or maybe it was because of the medicine, or perhaps it was simply because he genuinely liked Lucifer, but, Pei Xia felt intoxicated, both in body and soul. Emotions surged within him, impossible to contain.

Slowly, Pei Xia choked up.

Lucifer furrowed his brow and gently cupped Pei Xia’s flushed face, “You’re drunk. Very drunk.”

“Is that so?” Pei Xia retorted, “That doesn’t matter! Fei Fei, listen to me. I like you!”

“I know.”

It was just a simple sentence, but it made all of Lucifer’s previous irritation vanish. Pei Xia’s open and honest analysis of his feelings was so endearing.

Lucifer was gazing at him with a smile when suddenly Pei Xia shook his head vigorously and pushed away Lucifer’s hand. He extended his other hand, gripping Lucifer’s chin.

Lucifer: ?

Pei Xia earnestly held onto his chin and said, “No laughing. Even if I call you a little demon, you’re not allowed to laugh!”

Lucifer blinked slowly, very curious about what more a drunken Pei Xia would say or do. He nodded in agreement, “Okay.”

Pei Xia finally revealed a hint of a smile, only to suppress it immediately. He glared fiercely at Lucifer, attempting to dominate him with his own determination.

Then, Pei Xia began to ramble, “And don’t you dare say I’m possessed by a demon!”

Lucifer agreed.

“I’m your knight, and I want to protect you.”

Pei Xia acknowledged this.

“As your lover, I want to become perfect. I want people to know about our relationship and not think I’m unworthy of you!”

Lucifer held onto the hand that was gripping his chin and gently caressed it. He was deeply moved and spoke in a tender voice, “Good boy, I understand.”

Pei Xia huffed, and then he said, “I really, really like you!”

Lucifer acknowledged that.

“Even if you’re so gentle and delicate, completely not my type, it doesn’t matter. For you, I’m willing to change!”

Lucifer: “…”

He couldn’t help but furrow his brow.
