“Fei Fei!”

Lucifer silenced Pei Xia by covering his mouth and not allowing him to speak. This guy, who indulged in pleasure without restraint, had no idea of the consequences of continuing down this path.

Lucifer thought that he had perhaps been too lenient with him, using light magic to alleviate his discomfort and replenish his energy. This had led the Holy Knight to believe that his body could handle more.

The outwardly beautiful and pure Holy Son was actually quite mischievous. After the knight had choked a few times on his cuteness and cheekiness, Lucifer decided to teach him a lesson discreetly.

So he released Pei Xia’s mouth and let him go about his daily activities as if nothing had happened. Only in the late hours of the night did he begin to fulfill his promise of calling him by his real name.

On this particular night, Lucifer refrained from using light magic on Pei Xia’s body. As a result, the Holy Knight was left sobbing uncontrollably in the depths of the night.

The next day, Pei Xia was curled up under the covers, his eyes red and swollen, unable to get out of bed. Another beautiful summer day in Beist City was wasted by the two of them.

Lucifer sat at the edge of the bed, smiling as he pointed his finger at Pei Xia’s nose. “What should you call me?”

Pei Xia replied with a mix of sadness and anger, “Lucifer!”

Lucifer pinched his chubby cheek and shook it playfully. “Are you angry?”

The Holy Knight, wrapped tightly in the blanket, glanced at him and then grabbed a pillow to shield his face from Lucifer, preventing him from pinching his cheeks. He complained and acted a bit spoiled, “It’s not that serious. It just hurts a little.”

With his body aching all over and marked with red bruises, he didn’t even want to look at himself.

“Is that so?” Lucifer smiled and said, “I thought you were so excited that you should be fine.”

Pei Xia replied, “Of course I’m fine!” His voice perked up for those four words and then quickly lowered as he continued, “But fine doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt, right, Fei cough, Lucifer! I’m not feeling too well… Lucifer, better than Fei Fei, at least.”

Lucifer took the pillow that Pei Xia was using to shield his face and then gently lifted Pei Xia’s shoulders to make him sit up.

Pei Xia looked at him hesitantly, a hint of resistance in his eyes. He didn’t seem eager to continue. “Can I still call you Fei Fei?”

“Sure,” Lucifer replied.

Pei Xia sighed in relief and was then softly kissed by Lucifer. This kiss was incredibly gentle, with their lips meeting softly like marshmallows.

Pei Xia felt the warm embrace of his lover’s kiss and breath, with the faint scent of roses seemed to envelop him, gradually melting away all his fatigue, soreness, and swelling.

In the end, he received his healing.

After the kiss, Lucifer gently lifted Pei Xia’s chin and playfully stroked it as if teasing a cat. He said, “You better remember this time, or I won’t let you off so easily next time.”

Pei Xia nodded obediently with his head lowered. He had already forgotten the pain of the scars now and was already contemplating the next time.

“Fei Fei! Fei Fei is too innocent and naive. Besides, it will be healed later anyway, so the initiative is in my hands, right?” Pei Xia glanced at Lucifer and smiled at him. His eyes were filled with affection and excitement.

Lucifer couldn’t help but feel that the way Pei Xia looked at him was somewhat strange, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on what was amiss.

While the Holy Son and his loyal Knight were hiding in their room, sharing an intimate moment, in the courtyard outside the room, a few Holy Knights were taking care of the horses and gossiping.

It had been several days, and they hadn’t started their mission yet. This was the least efficient they had ever been since arriving in the new city.

One of the knights whispered, “It’s been days, and the captain hasn’t been very active lately. Do you think he’s been with the Holy Son all this time?”

Buck cleared his throat and said quietly, “I saw him leave the room yesterday, in the evening.”

“But other than that, they’ve been in the room the whole time,” Tom added, stroking his chin with a meaningful look.

Mallory asked, “Should we go and remind them to restrain themselves a bit? After all, without the Holy Son’s orders, we don’t know what we’re supposed to do.”

“No need,” Lanta replied mysteriously, looking at them. “Have you heard any strange sounds?”

The knights shook their heads in unison.

“Have you noticed anything unusual about the captain?” Lanta inquired.

Once again, the knights shook their heads.

Lanta clapped his hands together and said, “See, that settles it. I think you’re all overthinking it. The Holy Son and the captain must be finding us too slow, so they’re discussing the mission of spreading the faith in private!”

The knights nodded in agreement, saying, “That makes sense.”

However, they still didn’t believe it!

While the knights were idle and speculating aimlessly, Pei Xia appeared as usual and announced what they were going to do next.

Beist was the largest and most bustling city in the Orc Kingdom, and it was also the most complex in terms of its population. About a few decades ago, there used to be a branch temple of the Church of Light here, but it didn’t thrive because the Orc Kingdom was a stronghold of the Grassland Goddess’s followers. As a result, the branch temple gradually closed down.

Pei Xia would be going out with Lucifer to inspect the site of the branch temple to see if it could still be used. The other Holy Knights would prepare a place to accommodate the faithful and go out to promote the Church of Light on the streets, getting ready to start preaching the next day.

For other matters, they would follow the actions they had taken in Smibabaka.

One of the knights asked, “Captain, don’t you need us to accompany you? It might be dangerous with just you and the Holy Son.”

Pei Xia reassured them, “Don’t worry, we’re just going to take a look. We don’t plan on revealing our true identities. The rest of the tasks are entrusted to you!”

Of course, when they said “take a look,” it meant they wanted to have a public expense date.

The rest of the Holy Knights had no doubts and saluted in unison, saying, “Yes, Captain!”

While Pei Xia was explaining the action plan to the Holy Knights, inside the room, a barrier of moderate size covered the central area of the house, making it impossible for those outside to hear the conversation within.

[“My great and all-powerful master, you summoned me. What are your orders?”] asked the Shadow Demon with obsequiousness.

Lucifer sat in a chair, looking sideways at Pei Xia outside the window. Pei Xia was simply standing there talking to someone, but it brought a smile to Lucifer’s face.

[“Tell me, what do you think of him?”] Lucifer inquired.

The Shadow Demon recalled its earlier experience of being pinched and promptly responded, [“Captain Pei Xia fell in love with you through your deception. This is undoubtedly true love!”]

Lucifer’s smile froze, and he slowly turned back, raising his foot to step on the Shadow Demon, asking, [“What…did you say?”]

The Shadow Demon whimpered. Where had it gone wrong again? Should it have called Pei Xia shallow and foolish, or should it have claimed it was true love? Oh, Master, you’re so hard to please!

Unfortunately, subordinates without demon rights, when faced with their leader’s questions, must provide answers that satisfy them. So, it pondered and tentatively said, [“I would say that Captain Pei Xia is a very complicated person. Regardless of anything, he must deeply admire you!”]

Lucifer withdrew his foot, sighed lightly, and furrowed his brows, supporting his chin with his hand. [“But he loves the kind-hearted Holy Son of the Church of Light, which is only an illusion.”]

The Shadow Demon tried to appease him, saying, [“You can continue deceiving him until he dies. Humans have a lifespan of just a hundred years. If you wish, you can fool him the entire time. Ignorant humans would never see through your perfect disguise!”]

Lucifer’s expression turned cold, and there was a hint of murderous intent in his eyes. [“Are you suggesting I watch Pei Xia act affectionately with that impostor indefinitely? Ridiculous!”]

The Shadow Demon responded, trying to please Lucifer, [“That impostor is you, isn’t it?”]

Jealous of yourself, Master, you’re truly amazing!

Lucifer closed his eyes and spoke with a calm tone, [“Moreover, what can you achieve in a hundred years? He should remain by my side all the time.”]

When he opened his eyes again, he saw the Shadow Demon quivering before him.

Without hesitation, he reached out and grabbed the trembling creature. If it weren’t useful to him, he would have thrown it away long ago. [“What’s the matter? What are you afraid of?”]

[“N-Nothing,”] the Shadow Demon replied with a fawning smile. [“I was just thinking, maybe you could try revealing your true identity to Captain Pei Xia. If it’s true love, he surely won’t mind!”]

[“Is that so?”] Lucifer mumbled, unconsciously releasing his grip.

In truth, he had considered revealing his true identity to Pei Xia, but he was always too afraid. Because to him, Pei Xia was more than just a toy to manipulate at will.

The thought of Pei Xia being afraid or disgusted and trying to leave him filled him with resistance.

But now that the Shadow Demon had suggested it, maybe it was time to try.

After all, he couldn’t bear the idea of Pei Xia only loving his disguise.

Lucifer dispelled the barrier and let the Shadow Demon scurry away. He stood up, draped in a pure white robe, and elegantly walked towards Pei Xia.

In a shadowy corner, the trembling Shadow Demon retreated, overwhelmed by fear. His cold and powerful master seemed to have fallen for a mere mortal.

‘Oh, gods! No, Master! I pray for everything to go smoothly!’

Pei Xia and the veiled Lucifer began their official yet private outing, a date covered by the Church’s funds.

Since arriving in Beist, Lucifer hadn’t left the carriage, and he hadn’t even stepped outside the door when they reached the yard. Therefore, the orcs had never seen his true appearance.

Although the rumor of a stunning human Holy Son had spread in the Orc Kingdom, it was relatively safe for them to venture out now.

They leisurely explored the area, with the destination being the old location of the Church of Light in Baster. They were in no hurry, buying some local delicacies and drinks as they strolled.

As they walked, they unexpectedly encountered someone they knew.

The author has something to say:

The great Light God, Gugu Yan, has calculated that this story is almost coming to an end! (Don’t worry, there might still be around ten chapters left.) My lovely little angels, please accompany me to the conclusion!
