During boring times, there’s always a need to find something to spice up life.

Recently, they returned to modern society, with Lucifer shedding his holy identity to live a different life with Pei Xia.

From Pei Xia, Lucifer learned something he hadn’t paid attention to before – reading romance novels. This was a leisure activity Pei Xia enjoyed, and it was through this that he encountered Lucifer when crossing over.

When Lucifer asked for recommendations, Pei Xia directly gave him his Green Jijiji account. Lucifer quickly read the novels, showing no expression while reading. Three days later, he said to Pei Xia: “It’s a website that’s exceptionally pure in some aspects and interesting in others.”

“As long as you like it.”

“But, I suddenly noticed a problem.” Lucifer sadly rested his chin on his hand, opening a recently read novel, “Look.”

He pointed to a section: “Although the specific process is deleted, from the context, the protagonist being drugged, sold, blindfolded, and such…”

Pei Xia: “So?”

Lucifer looked at him innocently, “Don’t you find it interesting? This kind of behavior seems to deepen the emotional communication between the protagonist and others. Why don’t we try this game?”

Pei Xia: “…”

“And there’s this novel.” Lucifer said enthusiastically, “The protagonist falls in love with their lover who is a teacher, despite being a student. They face opposition from everyone around them, ignore societal judgments, and get into a car accident…”

Pei Xia: “Is that the main point?!”

Lucifer closed his phone, “Of course, they eventually end up together triumphantly.”

Pei Xia roughly understood what he was trying to do, somewhat helpless, “If it were you, the thing getting thrown around would be the car, right?”

Lucifer elegantly took a sip of cola, saying, “Not necessarily.”

Of course, your acting skills are so superb.

Lucifer is extremely proactive. When he wants to do something, he almost immediately goes ahead and does it. So, Pei Xia had to “break up” with him, even though it was a bit embarrassing. But if that’s what he wants to play, Pei Xia will obediently go along with it.

Meanwhile, to go along with Lucifer’s game, Pei Xia enrolled in a Japanese language class. After all, having graduated from university two years ago, if he wanted to be a proper student, he could only aim for postgraduate studies. But that’s not something that can be accomplished quickly, so for now, he decided to make do with playing along with the “Holy Son.”

The next day, in a mysterious manner known only to Lucifer, he appeared as the teacher in the Japanese language class, dressed in a sharp white shirt and black trousers.

To avoid letting his appearance impact his daily life too much, he altered his image to make his features more ordinary, approaching the likeness of an average person. Nevertheless, he remained stunningly beautiful.

Internet users are generally forgetful, and with the passage of time and various efforts, the once-popular #StreetAngel# has been largely forgotten by most people. Yet, there were still those who, upon seeing Lucifer, would connect him with that past.

After becoming the teacher and student on the first day, the two pretended not to know each other. On the second day, Lucifer decided to keep Pei Xia behind for some “extra lessons.”

“Teacher, this is too close,” Pei Xia earnestly portrayed the image of a student tempted by the teacher but tormented by ethical considerations.

Lucifer adjusted his tie, enveloping Pei Xia between his arms and the desk in the narrow space, smiling, “Why, feeling hot?”

Holding a pen, Pei Xia said, “I can’t concentrate on studying like this.”

“How about this, then?” Lucifer’s slender fingers slid from his shoulder down his back, “Still hot?”

Blushing, Pei Xia said weakly, “Teacher, I want to go home!”

“No, you can only leave after finishing the assignment,” Lucifer insisted.

Pei Xia meekly protested, “I’ve only been studying for two days!”

Lucifer feigned surprise, “Is it that the teacher didn’t teach seriously, or did Pei Xia not study diligently?”

Pei Xia, helpless, hastily completed a paper. Unexpectedly, Lucifer, playing the role of the teacher, was quite conscientious and actually began grading the papers diligently.

Pei Xia’s score was 36 points.

Most of it was guessed correctly.

As night fell, Lucifer’s expression suddenly darkened. In this quiet atmosphere, Pei Xia was genuinely startled by his change in demeanor. He couldn’t help but reflect on whether he had been too careless.

“Pei Xia, you did not pass,” Lucifer said in a silky and graceful voice, like a violin.

Pei Xia lowered his head, admitting his mistake, “I’m sorry, teacher.”

“Now that you know you’re wrong, accept the punishment obediently,” Lucifer said with a cold expression.

Pei Xia had question marks in his mind, unsure of what punishment he was referring to. It couldn’t possibly involve a car accident, could it?

In this situation, he dared not ask directly, so he followed Lucifer towards “home” as instructed.

According to the current setting, it was the teacher’s home, not the student’s. The 1.8-meter-tall Pei Xia obediently followed behind the man, feeling like a primary school student. Unable to bear it, he raised his hand to cover his face.

Upon finally returning home, Lucifer closed the door behind them with a flick of his hand, his eyes gleaming. He said, “Now, to punish your eyes for not paying attention to the blackboard, the teacher will blindfold you.”

As he spoke, he single-handedly loosened his own tie.

Unable to resist, Pei Xia took a step back, realizing that he might be serious. This involuntarily filled him with a vague thrill, causing his body to tremble.

He obediently closed his eyes, allowing Lucifer to blindfold him. Now, in front of him, everything was pitch black.

Lucifer took Pei Xia’s hand and slowly led him forward. In the darkness, Pei Xia could only follow closely to avoid stumbling. The feeling of relying on the other person made him unable to resist leaning forward, finding comfort in the faint fragrance emanating from Lucifer.

He was led into a room, and a strange sound echoed.

Pei Xia swallowed nervously and asked, “Teacher, what are you doing?”

Lucifer smiled, “I’m going to tie you up.”

Pei Xia tightly bit his lower lip.

Lucifer chuckled, “What’s wrong? Are you scared?”

Pei Xia excitedly nodded, “Yes!”

Lucifer: “…If you’re scared, don’t act so spirited.”

Pei Xia: “…Yes.”

Lucifer pinched his chin and said coldly, “There are still other activities to come.”

In any case, in Pei Xia’s exaggerated performance, the teacher-student punishment game continued. Lucifer played with great enthusiasm, satisfying multiple desires in one go, making him look forward to this game.

Unfortunately, it seemed that Pei Xia had truly immersed himself in it. His progress in learning increased, and Lucifer had fewer opportunities to punish him.

Why was that?

Unable to stay in character, Lucifer asked him. Pei Xia looked puzzled, “I spent money on this, can’t waste it!”

Lucifer: “…”

It seemed that in some aspects, Pei Xia was more serious than him.

Another issue with the teacher-student game was that no one was obstructing their relationship. In novels, the role of the obstacle is usually played by the student’s parents, friends, or the teacher’s colleagues and superiors, but…

Pei Xia innocently said, “I haven’t had much contact with my parents for a long time.” His friends were few, and the close ones would only congratulate him on his relationship; they didn’t really care about it. As for the teacher’s superiors and colleagues… in this Japanese language learning class, things weren’t that strict!

Lucifer rested his chin in his hands, feeling a bit frustrated.

Why, oh why, was there no one to obstruct them? Why was their love so smooth sailing?

As they say, without difficulties, create difficulties.

So, on this particular day, Lucifer got into a car accident.

When Pei Xia visited him in the hospital, the situation was extremely awkward. Despite having no visible injuries, Lucifer insisted on staying in the hospital. The nurses, captivated by the charm of the Holy Son, wished he could stay indefinitely. When they saw Pei Xia visiting, their smiles became even more ambiguous.

“Teacher, are you okay?” Pei Xia asked with concern while peeling an apple for him.

Lucifer, looking pale, weakly said, “The doctor said I have leukemia.”

Pei Xia replied, “Don’t make up stories about yourself!”

Lucifer continued, “The doctor said I only have three months to live.”

Pei Xia sighed, “Well, as long as you’re happy.”

Compared to worrying about Lucifer’s leukemia, Pei Xia was more concerned about the psychological well-being of the “hero” who hit him with the car. However, Pei Xia received an unexpected phone call that left him both surprised and amused.

It was from his “boss,” expressing gratitude to Lucifer for helping catch a long-hidden fugitive who had been posing as a driver and happened to be the one who collided with Lucifer.

However, the joy didn’t last long. Pei Xia soon realized that the “obstruction” experience that Lucifer wanted to go through had arrived, albeit in an unbelievably coincidental way.

Pei Xia’s father, whom he hadn’t been in contact with for a long time, arrived at the city hospital with Pei Xia’s grandmother. Originally residing in the county, they came to the city hospital for treatment after Pei Xia’s grandmother suffered a stroke. Coincidentally, it was the same hospital where Lucifer stayed, though not on the same floor.

Due to the cleaning staff going in and out, the door was left open and forgotten. Pei Xia’s father happened to pass by as he was getting his meal and saw a young man standing by the bedside, placing a bouquet of lilies into a vase. Soon after, the man, whom he found irresistibly attractive, pulled someone down onto the bed, and they shared a passionate kiss.

Pei Xia’s father’s expression changed instantly, reminding him of his unreliable son from his previous marriage. His mood took a turn for the worse. But what made it even worse was when the man in the black jacket broke free, revealing a face that overlapped with the memory.

…This guy was Pei Xia!

He never expected to suddenly encounter Pei Xia, let alone in this situation.

The lunchbox he was holding fell to the ground.

Sitting on the hospital bed, Lucifer made a curious sound and noticed the middle-aged man at the door. He signaled Pei Xia to take a look, only to see Pei Xia’s expression suddenly change.

The father and son awkwardly locked eyes. Pei Xia quickly regained composure, politely greeted his father, and inquired about his health. His father, with a stiff expression, warned him not to bother his grandmother, trying to prevent her from getting more upset.

Pei Xia assured him, “Don’t worry; I know you don’t welcome me. I won’t disturb you.

Lucifer slowly squinted his eyes.

Afterward, Pei Xia’s father left with a cold expression. Pei Xia sat on the chair in a daze for a moment, only to be gently lifted up by Lucifer under the chin to regain his senses.

“As a teacher, it is my duty to understand the family background of my students,” Lucifer scrutinized.

Pei Xia muttered under his breath, “You’re not a serious teacher at all.”

Lucifer continued, “The doctor said I have leukemia…”

Pei Xia interrupted, “Alright, alright, I get it.”

There wasn’t much to say, really. Pei Xia’s father had an affair back then, and the situation was unpleasant with Pei Xia’s mother. After their divorce, they each remarried and formed new families with new children. Pei Xia became the “burden”, growing up under the alternating care of both sides and his grandmother.

During high school, he stayed at the school dormitory, and during breaks, only his grandmother took him in. However, even his grandmother didn’t like him, finding Pei Xia dull and annoying, as he was the child of her former daughter-in-law.

The so-called home was not even as comfortable as the school dormitory, just a place lent to him for sleeping and eating.

Later, when he came out, it became even worse. His father and mother used the threat of university tuition fees to coerce him. Pei Xia didn’t succumb to their pressure and pretended to be heterosexual; he endured it on his own.

In the end, he had severed ties with all his relatives in this tumultuous affair.
