This time, people were more excited. Even with the extra requirement, the prices offered were not as bad as before.

"6 million!" The price immediately went into the millions.

"8 million!"

"12 million!"

"19 million!"

"25 million..." However the excitement soon petered out. The voices were also becoming more hesitant.

"26 million..."

"30 million!" A female voice sounded out, the same one during the bidding of the Phoenix Pill.

'That one really has a lot of courage. Or maybe just a lot of money.' The people that had dropped out of the race thought. She had bid for the Phoenix Pill and now she's bidding for the Samhain Poison. At least she's not cutting in at the end.

"35 million!" Another young male voice sounded, the one that won the Netherworld Siren core in the end. He had already won the Netherworld Siren core but now he's bidding for the Samhain Poison too?

'Is this young one holding a grudge about before?' Shen Tianyu thought with raised eyebrows. 'Well, this is just as well. I really have no right to get angry since it WAS malicious bidding, I just can't be touched. And now... I'm trying to raise the price so his grudge will come in useful.' As the Master of Lotus Pavilion, even if she paid, the money would still end up in her pocket so she didn't need to worry about money.

"40 million!"

"50 million!"

"70 million!" The prices immediately increased drastically. Many of the hesitating powers backed out. Some of the bigger powers, seeing the trend was also hesitant to continue bidding.

"Preposterous! You don't have 70 million!" The young master shouted across the hall.

"What do you mean?" Shen Tianyu feigned ignorance.

"You said before, you didn't bring more than 60 million!" He still remembered her words when he won the Netherworld Siren core. The auction hadn't even ended, how could she suddenly gain 10 million yuan?! She was definitely bidding maliciously.

"I said before I didn't bring that much, doesn't mean I have less than 60 million. It just means, in my own view, I didn't bring that much money. Young Master, please think about other people's words carefully. Besides, like you said, if I was bidding maliciously, Lotus Pavilion won't let me off." She reasoned. The last sentence was a bluff though. How could Lotus Pavilion "not let off" their owner? They had a death wish? Dying was fine, but what was worse was dragging others along with you, especially family. "Actually, Young Master, that should have been my line. You already bought the Netherworld Siren core for 60 million, do you really have enough money to bid for the Samhain Poison with me here? The Lotus Pavilion won't let off those that bid maliciously." She retorted.

In order to prevent any instances of "take and run" or money laundering, the rule in Lotus Pavilion is that one must bring their money with them when they went to bid. If they needed to sell property or borrow money to pay, they must do that in advance. One must pay for their items before leaving the Auction Hall. Of course, the only exception were people in the Fifth Tier. However, the price they put out must not be more than two folds of what they had on them at the time. They must make an advanced payment of at least half the price before they are allowed to leave to procure the rest of the money. They must pay the full amount before they can get the item. They also only had a grace period of one week. Because of that, they also prohibited malicious bidding to raise the price, otherwise it would be bad for business. Those that are suspected of malicious bidding can be asked to show their current assets in order to ascertain they had the money to bid for the item. Those that are found to participate in malicious bidding are "escorted out" of the auction hall and banned for life from participating in the auctions again. In the worst case, you would be crippled and either your whole clan or organization would be banned from ever attending auctions again or a combination of both. That's why, in all these years, the amount of malicious bidding cases of the auction hall did not exceed one hand.

The youth, though reckless and straightforward, was not stupid. Though he had said what he said, the fact was, he was on the Fourth floor and the other party was on the Fifth. That alone showed their difference in social status. If he really offended a great power, even his father's whole organization would not be able to protect him, even if they were willing. In addition, the seating difference also showed their financial status. Even if he suspected the other was maliciously bidding, he could not afford the off chance that the other party wasn't. By then, it would be too late to regret. The different tiers and floors of Lotus Pavilion were just like cultivation, the higher you were, the more powerful you were and the harder it was for someone below to reach you. Though they were only separated by some wooden flooring, the statuses between the two floors were vastly different, both socially and financially.

The youth could only grit his teeth and bear it.

"Oh? Young Master is not bidding anymore?" Shen Tianyu taunted after not hearing him for a long time. The auctioneer was just about to start shouting for final bids, but stopped upon hearing the question. 'Tch. Did he back off? Damn, I haven't pushed the price high enough yet. If I'd known I would have bid higher.'

'This great one up there, you clearly are maliciously bidding right now.' The auctioneer cried in his heart. 'Otherwise why would you taunt him? Sigh, what "Lotus Pavilion won't let you off"? You are personally connected to the Pavilion Master, how could we have the courage to put even a finger on a single strand of your hair? Even if we were given 100 bottles of liquid courage, we still wouldn't have enough.' The auctioneer lamented. 'Don't think just because things are running so smoothly and everything's so peaceful now that our Master is a pushover. Back then...' The auctioneer visibly shuddered, not daring to continue that line of thought. Not daring to remember what happened years ago...
