For New York, it was a pretty calm day, with only a few sirens in the background.
People were running around doing their daily activities, when suddenly they felt something around them changing. People started to space out and their eyes began to change and glow in a yellow light.
It took only a moment to rob the people of New York of their free will.
The cause of this was a man standing on the Central Park Tower with his arms wide spread.
Eyes glowing yellow gold.
At the same time in the X-Mansion.
The events that happened on the Helicarrier were watched by Charles Xavier in Cerebro.
As the Avengers brought Loki close to New York, he noticed him. Charles knew that this being was not a mutant or a normal human.
So he observed the situation and made his X-Men ready to attack if necessary.
He was ready to send his team out, when Loki managed to flee to New York. However, it turned out that someone was already dealing with him, and he didn't want to encounter this person again.
The man defeated Loki easily, but then something strange happened. He began emitting weird mind waves.
Suddenly the mind waves started to spread faster and stronger enveloping nearly all the people in New York. People began emitting the same strange mind energy as the man which spread like a virus.
When Charles realized what would happen to everyone, he sent his own telepathy out to help.
Sending his own mind waves out, while absorbing the hostile ones, he managed to disrupt the process of brainwashing of several individuals.
Knowing that they had a small chance now he smiled while his eyes started to emit a yellow light.
After Thor got tricked by Loki and was thrown out of the Helicarrier he geared up again and flew back to deal with Loki.
When he got back there, he was unable to find him, but could see a multitude of people staring into nothingness with yellow glowing eyes.
He walked further only to see people on the bridge in the same state.
"Loki what did you do?"
"This wasn't Loki, it seems that an old friend of mine finally showed his true colors." said Nick Fury while walking around the corner.
"What? Who is this old friend? I need to stop him."
Fury simply says "Follow me"
Upon entering a lab, he could see Tony and Steve already there watching over a monitor and Bruce standing in a corner with yellow glowing eyes.
"Stark what the hell is going on here?" said Thor.
"What's going on here?" You mean what is going on all over New York. Jarvis report."
Suddenly a voice could be heard on the ship.
"It seems as if a strange energy spread from a single point in Central Park and spread all over New York, and more recently, even beyond the borders of the city. My advice to you, Sir, is to evacuate immediately."
Tony listened to this and then said "Show them the actual satellite photos of the source."
A picture appeared on the monitor of the roof of the Central Park Tower. With people lying around and a man on the edge of the roof spreading his arms wide out.
"This is the guy who is doing this? I will be right back"
But Steve stopped him.
"If the information about him is accurate, it would be dangerous to face him head on."
"He is probably only using Loki's scepter. I will beat him up and take it from him."
Tony stepped forward and placed a case in front of them. After opening it there were small containers with contact lenses.
"It's not so easy. He can do things that normal people can't. He is extremely fast, strong and he can create electricity and spit fire. But his strongest ability is to hypnotize people if they look him in the eyes. And that's why I created these lenses."
He picks up the container, opens it and places the lenses in his eyes. Then they glow a bit blue and return to normal.
Steve looked concerned and said, "But how did he do this to these people and why are we the only ones spared from this thing?"
"I don't know but we need to stop him or this world as we know it will end." said Tony with a serious expression.
"Sir the energy source has moved it's now directly at the central park." said Jarvis and placed another photo on the scream now the man was looking directly at the satellite smiling.
Fury seeing this said "He is taunting us. I will take a Quinjet and will help you to fight."
Steve and Thor nodded and then Tony said.
"Jarvis prepare the Iron Legion. It's time for war."
Then they started to gear up and in the meantime a large black jet landed on the Helicarrier. Daredevil, Storm and Rouge emerged from it, ready to face the threat that waited for them in New York.
Sitting on the ground in the middle of Central park, the man only sighed and said "Damn baldy, I should have taken him out when I had the chance. Hopefully his saviors can entertain me."
He looked down and patted the case with the Tesseract while smiling. His focus then turned back to spreading his freedom further.

I also wrote the chapter from the third person perspective to show that we also lost the connection to the MC and the heroes.
