Chapter 22

The First thing the girls did was check up on Nina, she was bleeding from the earthen spike going through her stomach, screaming in pain, but was fast enough to use [Refreshing Drops] to fight the Bleed, but she was loosing health fast, Kali reached her and Nina used her [Mana Well] to gain Mana from Kali, she took almost everything, luckily the Skill stops it when it drains more than was healthy for the one losing the Mana, since too low will knock them out, then with the Mana, used her healing drops to get some of her Health back, but she had a problem, the spike was stopping her from healing more. Annika and Kali noticed what needed to be done, so Kali got a piece of wood, then put it in Nina's mouth for her to bite on, and a bowl.

"Put your Healing Drops in here, you might get knocked unconscious from the pain" Kali said in a soothing voice. Nina listened and made her healing drops in the bowl, and when she was done, Annika did not wait, and ripped the Spike out.

"AAAAHH"Nina screamed then fell unconscious, Kali immediately used the healing drops on the wound, it closed up completely within 30 sec.

"Fuck, that was close," Annika said with a Relieved sigh seeing that Nina was healed completely, and after 5 minutes Nina woke up, and she was fine.

"just a sore belly," Nina soothed Annika that was still concerned.

Then they walked towards the only remaining hobgoblin.

"She is bleeding out,"Nina said while looking at the message she had from the [Appraisal], and after looking over the message she gained another one telling her she gained exp for the last Hobgoblin.

"That was too close, I should have gone down faster instead of shooting that hobgoblin," Kali concluded, then started looking around the camp for survivors, but after searching for 30 minutes found nothing alive, but did find some strange things, iron weapons, clothing, Pickaxes and even some gold coins, but also found some kind of Ore vein that was at the end of one of the tunnels.

When she came back from her scouting, she found Annika looking over the weapons that she found in a cave behind the leader's big tent.

"Strange, right?" Kali said to Annika, confirming Annika's thoughts.

"Yeah, these weapons are made using iron, but the goblins obviously did not know how to do so, even the tents are made using clothing that they gained somehow," Annika noted, then took a pickaxe in her hand, "These are used by them to mine, but where is the ore that they mine?" she continued.

"The ore is also not iron, I found the vein that they were mining, and it was not iron," Kali answered her with her findings, "I hope Nina can [Appraise] it, but I think someone was funding these goblins to mine the ore and even gave them weapons, clothing, and gold coins." Kali finished then started looking for Nina.

Kali found her fast since she was outside the sex tent, and was vomiting from the smell and since she entered from the front most likely also saw the thing Kali saw when leaving it. There are decomposing half-eaten goblins at the end of the tent, there are also skeletons of them, they are obviously goblin bones, but since goblins are so small, they look like child skeletons.

"Hi, you saw them?" Kali softly asked Nina while holding her hair back, and rubbing her back to sooth her.

"We should burn the tent down," Nina said with disgust.

"Let's ask Annika to do that, I need you for something," Kali said trying to distract her, by explaining their conclusion about the goblins, then leading her to the ore vein she found.

"Okay, so it is a Rare ore, that would explain things, but still not everything," Kali said when she read the message Nina showed her," let's go to Annika, and talk about what to do next here," Kali continued then both girls walked towards the campsite, to make a plan with Annika.

When they walked into the big room with the goblin camp, they saw Annika digging a hole in the middle of the camp, she is working fast with one of the pickaxe.

"Why are you making a hole there?" Nina asked, since they could not think of why she would just randomly dig a hole.

"I am making a pit to burn all the goblins corpses before they decompose and spread diseases," Annika answered, then we told her what the metal is" ah a heavy metal, I could use that for our base," Annika continued, and then explained she wanted to mine it when she has the time to use, and maybe learn a metal crafting skill, since we could use the weapons. 

After she made the pit she filled it with dead goblins, but only about 30 fit inside the pit.

"We can just burn them 30 at the time," Annika explained then lit them on fire using a piece of wood put in the dying camp fires, it burned fast, so Annika took another one and threw it to the sex tent when we left the cave.

While walking everyone said what they gained, Annika reached Level 18 in both Race and Class, and her skills leveled up too.

Now Nina reached level 19 in both, and her skills also increased. Especially [Water Ball]. 

Both girls gained a lot from killing hundreds of goblins, so it is surprising to see Kali gaining even more with just a couple of kills in comparison, but the girls were all satisfied, Kali also gained a new Class Skill and Race Skill when she reached Level 20 in both.

"A Rare and an Epic, and I can see why, they are both incredible," Kali told them when showing the skills, she already tried [Space Pocket] and it is mostly based on weight and size, gold coins were strangely more Mana intensive than a rock that was bigger and heavier, so something else is also effecting the Mana use, but her bow and arrows fit inside it, so she already did that, since they will not be in the way until she needs them.

After they all exited the cave they went their separate ways, Kali went to scout out the Orcs, Annika and Nina went to the base, to finish the bath and work on the flooring of the base.

Kali ran towards the direction the orcs were at to check there first, since there was a chance the [Black Fog] that was chasing her disappeared, meaning she can investigate starting there.

It took a while to reach there, but she reached the spot the Orcs died at and found nothing, their bodies were gone, Kali looked around for anything to indicate what took them, and found tracks going towards the west, the tracks were heavy, deep footprints, that she has seen before from Orcs, but deeper, most likely from carrying the dead Orcs.

She followed the tracks for about 2 hours, and has learned some things from the tracks, she learned that the Orcs she was following only stopped one time, most likely to rest.

'They joined a bigger group' she thought after a seeing the tracks change. At the start of tracking there were 7 tracks that went west, but after they walked west for about 30 minutes, they joined a bigger group, that was waiting for them, there were more than 50 Orc Tracks, but also more than 50 tracks of wolves, the exact number was hard to see for her since they are walking in a big group, these tracks were also going west.

'They are walking in a straight line,' Kali concluded while checking her mental map, then stopped following the tracks, since they go into a [Black Fog] that was very thick, so much that it is hard to see where they went, but also had the same reaction of her [Primal Instinct] when meeting the [Black Fog] from the dead Orcs.

She did notice it would not get closer, so she decided to scout close enough to mark it in her Mental Map, but far enough to run if needed, she wanted to Map it, so she can warn the others about it.

After scouting for about 2 hours she found out that it goes in a slight curve.

'Wait, the Crystals of Lyr's [Appraisal] said [Miasma] does not go near where it grows naturally,' Kali remembered the info, then looked at her Mental Map, and if it is indeed going in a slight oval circle around the Base, then they are safe at least from the [Black Fog], but the corrupted can still attack them, and also they might want to get away from here, but that will become a problem until they find a good way to get rid of the [Black Fog].

'In the meanwhile I should still map it all, just to be certain,'Kali thought, then kept running at a decent pace, but got interrupted from that by some Corrupted Orcs leaving the [Black Fog], 20 of them walked out the Fog and started walking towards the north-east, with Kali following them.
