Chapter 68
Kali's pov
Zooming thought the forest, I arrived in minutes at the location that Annika should be at.
'Morrigan, could you tell me where she is from my location?' I mentally asked Morrigan, my Spirit Raven. When I was Awakening my Bloodline, she scouted a lot of the mountain, but she needs to merge with my body to transfer the information, so that I can add it all to my mental map.
Morrigan was close by, and I told her to protect them if I am not here, and she did. She kept watch the whole time she could, and at night she would scout the mountain.
She already found Annika without me telling her, since she never let her leave her sight,'Such a loyal companion.' I thought in fondness, while also pondering how to reward her. Morrigan is a Spirit Raven, and they don't need food or water at all, maybe the Bounty System might have something for her.
Arriving at the location that Morrigan told me has Annika, I found her laying against a tree while injured. She has a massive cut going from her right shoulder to her left breast, and it looks serious.
I flicker towards her at extreme speed, and look her over in concern. Before I could look her over, she swung her axe at me, and I bent myself backwards, so it flew over me, missing me.
"Annika, it is me, Kali." I told her, and moved myself back so she would not attack me again instinctually.
"Kali?" She asked me with a dazed look. She looks like she lost too much blood.
"Yes, now let me look you over." I told her with urgency in my voice from seeing her so injured. When she nodded at me, and laid her axe down, I walked closer, and took out a bowl from my [Space Pocket]. It has Nina's Healing Drops in it, and I splashed it on her body.
The Healing Drops automatically went to the wound and healed it, but even with it, it is slowly healing. It reminds me a little of my True Cuts.
'Is she being affected by something that stops her healing?' I thought, and then voiced the question, hoping that Annika would know.
"P-poison." She said with a slight slur, most likely from the poison.
Looking at the wound, I noticed an orange liquid at several spots, so I got closer and used my fingers to get some of it, and then I licked it off of them. I felt it touch my tongue, and it got absorbed by it.

'Antidote too?' I thought in surprise, since I was hoping for a name, so I could maybe know something about it, since I know some poisons from [Hunter's Eyes] and [Poison Resistance], but I did not expect an antidote.
I opened my mouth and used [Myriad Poisons] to create the Antidote. My Stamina was being drained slightly, and I could feel my saliva turn to Antidote for the [Health Drain] poison. Dripping it on the wound, it took only a little time to cure her of the poison, and her wounds to start healing at a visible rate.
"Are you okay?" I asked in concern, and I noticed that the dazed look was gone, which is a good sign.
"Yes, thank you." She said, and kissed me. I was still careful since the wound was still not healed, but I did kiss her back.
"What happened?" I asked with anger, since the moment I absorbed the poison, I know how it was created, and it has to be made by a humanoid.
Annika sighed,"I found some humans, and they attacked me," She said calmly, but I could see that she was also angry,"I was hunting Corrupted Orcs, and after I took out a big group of them, some Humans saw me. They immediately attacked, and I told them to stop, which they did, but then their leader I presume, ordered them to attack again. Most of them were weak, but since it is my first time dealing with other Humans, I decided to retreat." She explained.
Annika explained further after taking a breath,"When I was retreating, one of them moved at me at fast speed and slashed me. To defend myself I hit him back with my axe and I killed him, but I could feel the poison in my blood, so I retreated as fast as possible and laid down here. To rest and hopefully heal, but the poison stopped me."
"That..." I said, feeling more anger than I ever felt before. I got closer to Annika,"Where are they?" I asked her with a soft voice.
"They should be to the west," She told me, but she also held me close to her. Obviously, she knew my plan,"Stay here, let me get better, and we can both go and see why they attacked me." She persuaded me, and I nodded to show my agreement to her plan.
While she was getting better we talked about the changes that happened to me, and she told me that she reached level 50. She killed several other Tier-2 Corrupted Orcs, and she told me that there has been more Tier-2 Corrupted lately, which was confirmed by Morrigan.
She scouted around at night, and she has noticed that the Corrupted has been more active ever since I killed that Corrupter.
"Okay, I am good, let's go and see what they say. If they attack again, we kill them." Annika told me, and I am surprised she is okay with that, since I thought she would have a problem with it.
Weirdly enough, I don't feel anything when I think of killing other Humans, and I wonder why I was so okay with it.
"You talk to them, and I will Veil myself, but the moment they attack you they die." I told her, and she looked at me weirdly for a second, but then nodded.
Seeing her nod, I Veil myself, and follow her to the direction of the Humans. While Veiled I noticed something, and looked at my Mana. Even through I am Veiled, I did not lose anywhere near 50% of my Mana, and looking at [Veils of Mysteries], I found out why. It changed from 50% of my max Mana, to 10%, and that is Veil of Space of my [Veils of Mysteries]. Veil of Secrecy, another Veil of my Skill is also lower in cost, instead of 100 Mana, it uses 10 Mana now.
'Wait, did I not get a Notification about something like this?' I thought, and then I tried to remember when I got it, but I could not remember where I saw that before.
While I was thinking about my Mana, I got interrupted by something, Morrigan.
Morrigan noticed a group of 9 Humans to our west, and they were exactly where Annika and I are going, so we will meet them soon.
I met them first, and scouted them out. All are Human, and 2 of them are people I have seen before. They were the ones that were demanding people to help them deal with some Goblins. They are from the Frontier.
'This is going to be interesting.' I thought while thinking of the Frontier's reaction of their deaths, and I don't believe for a second he will not attack Annika. From his interaction with the tall Orc, I know he is stupid and impulsive.
Since Annika asked me to wait and see, I decided to follow her wishes, but I really want to kill them all for attacking my girlfriend. Moving thought the group, I feel confident that they will not notice me, and I could kill them all without them even be able to react.
I was close to the leader of the group, the young noble, and was waiting for Annika to arrive. I will kill the strongest here first, and I already have my knifes out in anticipation.
Annika came from between the trees,"Hello again, why did you attack me?" She straight-out asked them with her normal calm voice, and I let out a chuckle from the dry tone she put in the question. Most people would not notice the dry tone, but I know her well enough to hear it.
Even though I chuckled, they heard nothing, and the young noble smiled at Annika,"Dumb bitch returned!" he said with a laugh and with a noticeable arrogant tone,"Kill her!" He yelled to his men, and I waited for Annika's reaction.
She sighed and raised her Axe, and I took that as permission to start.
I was between the young noble and the older man that was with him in the office of the tall Orc, and I slashed at the throat of the older man, cutting his head straight off, and I cut the tendons of the young noble, making sure he would not die or bleed out.
After killing the older man, who was also the strongest here, I moved at fast speed between the other ones, and they all got decapitated.
Annika did not even have time to react before they all died, and then I unveiled before the young noble, who was on his knees and crying out of pain.

Kali's pov

"Annika, it is me, Kali." I told her, and moved myself back so she would not attack me again instinctually.
