Chapter 49
Nina's pov
Annika and I just left the base, and are walking towards the Elemental area. It is a short 30-minute walk from our base, so we will arrive pretty fast.
"She is such a tease," I told Annika, speaking about Kali's parting words that got us all worked up.
Annika chuckled,"But she also delivers, so not a tease and more a seducer. And I know that you love that about her, just like I do."
I smiled at that,"Anyone would fall in love with her if they felt her tongue inside them."
Annika actually laughed at that,"I cannot disagree with that."
We walked a little more until Annika asked me a question.
"I talked with Draka about Kali, would you like to know what she said?" Annika asked me. She would not ask me this, unless Draka was okay with it.
"I would like to know, yes," I told Annika and looked at her for an answer, since she most likely wanted my opinion on something.
"Draka first asked me if I was certain that Kali was a Human, and not a Lust Demon. Apparently she has been feeling an intense attraction to Kali, and she believes that it is too intense to be natural," Annika told me and I laughed at that,"Yeah, that is what I told her too. Her other idea is, that she has been cursed when she was young, and it was also cured when she was Purified."
I thought about it for a while and had to agree with Draka, that is a possibility,"Did she ever feel lust before?" I asked Annika.
"She told me that she never felt it before, but she also said she does not remember much of her time before being Purified," Annika told me.
So she could have been cursed, and If the curse was lifted. She could be having problems with lust, and meeting Kali does not help with that. Knowing her like I do, she most likely already teased, and tried to seduce her. Together with her natural seductive behavior, and that sexy leather outfit, could cause Draka to be feeling intense lust.
'This morning did not help with that either, I would bet.'
"I could try and Appraise her, but honestly, you already know what can help her," I told Annika with no small amount of amusement.
"Yeah I know, but she is very stubborn about it. I told her that you or Kali would love to help, to clear her lust, but she refused," Annika told me, which made me raise my eyebrow at her,"I agree that she is pretty, but I am not interested in her like that."
"Okay. I will ask her if it is okay to Appraise her, and we go from there," I said, ending the discussion.
We arrived at the Elemental area, and I used [Eyes of Magic]. I see a lot of Earth Mana around the area, and there are several directions where the Earth Mana is stronger. Most likely the Natural Treasures that Kali mentioned.
The Elemental area has a lot more plains, and rocks than the surrounding areas.
"Let's go that way," I told Annika pointing towards the closest looking one.
"Please lead, my lady," Annika told me with a bow, and it got me to chuckle and smile.
"Oh, such a gallant knight," I told her in my best posh accent.
After walking a short while, we arrived close enough for me to see certain Earth Mana spots that are focused on some rocks on the plain, and we already learned not to trust rocks in this area.
Annika already got ready, and I raised my new staff for the first time, while using [Water Bolt]. I can feel the mana go throught the staff, and my [Water Bolt] came from the tip of it. The magic skill reached level 9 not that long ago, and I want to get it to 10 as fast as possible, and these Stone Golems are weak against my magic. They are the perfect targets for me.
After it got to level 9, [Water Bolt] can now shoot between 1 and 4 water bolts at the same time, depending on how many I want, and they also do moderate damage.
I hit the first one with the 4 Water bolts at the same time. The skill hit it on several areas of their body, and the water seeped into the stone, causing a lot of pieces to fall of it. It did not die, but it is almost dead already.
'The staff increases the power by 5% or around that amount.'
There are 6 of them in this area, and my attack woke them all up. Annika and I already have a plan for them. 2 for her and 4 for me.
Pointing my Staff at it, I shot 2 bolts this time, and they both hit its chest. It slowly fell down, and laid down on the ground. This is the effect that water magic has on them. It seeps into their body and drains their Earth Mana, and they use that to live.
I saw Annika being attacked by 2 of them, but she let them hit her, to train her skills, and increase her Vitality, Endurance, and Willpower.
The other 3 are slowly going towards me, and I spammed [Water Bolt] at them. It took me almost no effort to kill them.
'Now I can watch Annika.'
Looking at Annika, I smile. She is taking several hits to her body, but her self-healing is strong enough to keep up. A couple of days ago, she finally got the level needed to get her 3rd enhancement and after thinking about it for a long time, she decided on Willpower.
She did not gain the same skill as Kali, instead hers is better suited for her combat style.
But even with her new skill, I am always looking out for any problems with her health using the skill I gained when I reached Human Level 20.

Annika's pov
Standing still like this, while taking hits makes me wonder if I am the Masochist.
'At least it feels like pain to me, and not as pleasure, since it would be hard to fight while hard,'
My health was going down, and I can feel that my body has several bruises, but it is worth it. I can feel my Willpower being reinforced, my blood become stronger, and my muscles being strengthened.
After I thought it was enough I moved to a tricky angle, and they cannot hit me for a second. I use the time, to swing my Axe with full force in
one of them, I use [Brute Force], [Power Strike], and [Cleave] at the same time. I cut straight through one of them, and deep in the other one.

Both Stone Golems crumble around me, and I ram my hand through their chest, picking up the [Earth Shard].
I moved towards the other 4 that Nina killed, and did the same. Then walked towards Nina,"Where next?" I asked her.
She rolled her eyes, and moved a finger at me, making several drops fly towards me. They moved under my armor, and went to several areas with bruises. It did not take long for me to be all healed up.
My skill [Vitalizing Will] heals me a lot too, but has a high cooldown, and I just used it in the fight.
Nina started walking again, and I followed her.
Two more areas of Stone Golems later, we reached the area that Nina said has a Natural Treasure.
There are many more rocks around and I know that some of them are Stone Golems. Looking at Nina,"How many?"
She looks around for a little,"21."
My eyebrow raises at that number,"Are they close together?" I ask her, and when she nodded,"Go for it, you know the plan."
Nina raised her new staff above her head, and a huge ball of water is slowly being made. It took her 5 seconds and then she threw it. It moved in an arch, like a thrown basketball, but at least 30 times as big.
The big water ball smashed in an area, with a lot of rocks. The rocks crumbled into small parts from the force, and a big area was flooded with tons of water, affecting a lot more of the Stone Golems.
The Stone golems that were left, stood up, and I counted 3 that were totally fine and 7 that were affected by the water that flooded them with a strong force. The 3 that were fine were shortly dealt with by me, and the other 7 died before Nina or I did anything.
'I love this woman, and her crazy magic.'
"Well done," I told her,"And where is the Natural Treasure?" I asked her straight after, since I don't trust how easy it was.
"There is still one more Elemental, but it is not a Stone Golem. It was hidden beneath all those other Golems,"Nina told me, and I immediatly look at the area she smashed. There was indeed something there, but it feels weakened. Most likely by the water, but safety is important.
"Do you know what it is?" I asked Nina, hoping she could Appraise it. But even so, I was already moving closer.
"No, but the split second I saw it, before it too got flooded, it felt much stronger than the other Stone Golems, which makes me think it is something else," She answered.
The earth broke apart, and a big Golem came from it, at least 4 times as big as the other golems. It would be a scary sight if it was not losing stones with every movement.
It was right in front of me, so I charged at it with my axe. I jumped and used the downwards force, together with all my skills, to cut it.
My attack took a massive piece of its torso, and before the piece of rock could fall to the ground, the area it came from was hit by several water bolts.
The Golem was crumbeling into rocks, but it swung his arm one last time.
It hit me on my side, but I used my axe to defend it, but even with that, I was pushed back several meters, but I kept my balance and dug my feet down on the ground. Two lines, made by my feet showed where I was, and where I was pushed.

The moment I got the notification, I first checked Nina. She was fine, and was even cheering. It relaxed me, since I was afraid she was hit too.
"That was a heavy hit," I say to her. It felt good, being able to defend against something like that. It was a Tier 2 and I took its last desperate attack, and I survived it with almost no damage.
"Yes, but it did almost no damage," Nina said to me. She is correct, it did almost no damage at all. That is because of the Skill I gained when my Class reached level 30.

It really saved me this time, since it would have blown me away without this Skill.
"Now, let's see this Natural Treasure that Kali talked about," Nina said after she was done checking her new skills most likely, since she was level 38 before and should have at least reached level 40 from that. She did kill 18 of the Stone Golems, and did most of the damage to the Tier 2.
"Correct, it was buried with the Tier 2, so good luck digging," she told me with a laugh.
I look at the massive Rockal Golem, and sighed,"That will take a while," I told her in a dry tone, but with a smile that I hid from her.
She laughed at that, and I started working on it, and of course. I also took the [Earth Shards], and I will need to bring Kali here, so she can take the Rockal Golem with her. My appraisal said it can be used for building materials.
