Arc-1 Chapter-7: The Venomous Snow White Puts On Her Armor

Koyuki smiles self-mockingly as she slumps down.
"That's why I became the 'Venomous Snow White'. It's not every day you find someone who wants to get close to such a harsh girl." (小雪)
"Eh, I've heard that you've had a lot of confessions though..." (Naoya)
"I've always rejected those who confessed to me harshly... So everyone gave up after the first time."¹ (小雪)
"But I hear there's something called the Shirogane-San Club....?" (Naoya)
"Heh? What?." (小雪)
Koyuki rolled her eyes in disbelief.
It seems that the unofficial fan club that Tatsumi was talking about is something that she doesn't know about. Or maybe it doesn't exist.
Koyuki nodded her head and let out a small sigh.
"Well, anyway, I'm that kind of girl. I'm just a strong... wimp who's afraid of what others will think of her." (小雪)
With her eyes still on her lunch box, Koyuki spilled out in a shaky voice.
Her eyes were shaking faintly, as if they were about to overflow with drops.
So - Naoya tells her simply.
"I don't think so." (Naoya)
"Wha?" (小雪)
Koyuki glanced up.
Naoya looked around and pointed to a corner of the courtyard.
"For example.... look, over there. Do you see Iwatani(岩谷)-sensei?" (Naoya)
The man there is Iwatani-sensei, the student advisor.
He is a large, stern-looking male teacher, and the students who are being checked for their clothes are standing there with blue faces.
As his appearance suggests, he is one of the strictest teachers in the school. He doesn't let even the smallest infraction of school rules go unnoticed, and has never once smiled in front of his students.
".....what's wrong with Iwatani-sensei?" (小雪)
"He's really a calm person at heart. But he's really pushing himself to be a good student advisor." (Naoya)
"What, No way." (小雪)
"I'm not lying. I can tell when I look at him." (Naoya)
While we were talking about this, the clothing instruction was over and the students were running away like spiders.
After seeing them off, Iwata-sensei let out a small sigh at.... This is the first time she's ever seen him like this. However, he quickly put on his original stern expression and walked back towards the school building.
This caused Koyuki to widen her eyes.
"Ho, he really seems to be pushing himself.... I had no idea." (小雪)
"I'm sure you didn't. Usually he's hidden it well." (Naoya)
Only a few teachers and Naoya knew about this.
Iwatani-Sensei is strict not only with his students but also with his colleagues. Even though he knows he's being snubbed for it, he's using his "Demonic Teacher" character to get on with his job.
"Because I know what they're thinking. I know that everyone is more or less armed with armor, just like Shirogane-san." (Naoya)
The armor of a strict teacher.
The armor of a saint who is kind to everyone.
The armor of the Cynic, to keep people at bay.
Everyone has a variety of armaments, and they use them in different situations.
It's not a bad thing at all, and it's a piece of equipment that you will always need in order to survive.
"So, Shirogane-san is not a weakling. She's just a normal girl." (Naoya)
"Sa, Sasahara-Kun..." (小雪)
Koyuki paused and let her scratchy voice trail off.
Naoya put his own hand on her hand and slowly spoke to her.
"I know how you really feel, Shirogane-San. It's okay if you're cold and tsun tsun. If it's a girl named Shirogane Koyuki, I'll do my best to accept it." (Naoya)
"That's.... Shirogane Koyuki..." (小雪)
Koyuki was stunned for a while, but... suddenly, her face became sharp.
It made Naoya's head spin.
(What? That was a pretty good pick-up line. Why do you have to be so sharp?)
I had expected her to be enraptured by it, but it was not the reaction I was expecting.
When Naoya was confused, Koyuki told him with a serious face.
"I'm glad you said that. But if that's the case... I'm going to have to settle for this." (小雪)
"Is that so...?" (Naoya)
"Of course not!" (小雪)
Koyuki clenched her fists and declared in a loud voice:
"I want to change myself! And I want to a honest girl!" (小雪)
"Heh." (Naoya)
It was as if Koyuki was motivated by an unexpected turn of events.
