Chapter .300

{Go ahead, young Dragon Hearted. Bring out your strongest summoned beast.} The huge golden and brown serpentine dragon, Lady Ami Janina, ordered me.

We had moved from her mountain to the wastelands nearby. Lady Ami Janina had cleared the other dragons, who had been … maybe play-fighting in this area. And because of that, we now had a huge audience of dragons watching us. Agunan also said it is because Lady Ami Janina doesn’t fight that often, so whenever she does, everyone awake watches it. And a lot of dragons are even woken up by others so they can also watch the fight. In total, the audience we had was over 200 dragons, either hovering in the air or lounging on the hills of the closest mountains.

I was riding Agunan and he was hovering opposite to Lady Ami Janina, at a distance of about 200-ish meters. A bit difficult to judge, as we are flying and the giant dragon in front of me is making everything look small.

“Alright! I shall!” I called out, as I got the first set of cards out of my collection. “I active three copies of Solemn Wishes! Then I tribute all three of them to summon this.”

As I placed my Uria on the duel disk, a strange feeling came to me. A poem like text forced its way into my head, demanding to be read aloud.

“O Lord of Flames in the hell below

Hear my emotions burning like thy Flames

Destroy the Traps that cannot bind you

And appear before us, o first Phantasm

Uria, Lord of Searing Flames!”

As I chanted, a nearby volcano began a surprise eruption. From it, a roaring pillar of flame shoot out, causing some of the dragons flying around to panic and take their distance. As the flames kept shooting out, they took on the form of a flaming serpentine dragon. Then, with a final burst of fire, the flames disappeared, revealing my Sacred Beast.

Uria then flew to me, and took a position between Agunan and Lady Ami Janina, as if standing guard against the dragon.

Uria was large, but not quite as long as Lady Ami Janina. Lady Ami Janina is definitely over 100 meters long, from head to the tip of her tail, but Uria was probably just a bit under that length, around 90 to 95 meters long.

And like some of my other super monsters, Uria was letting out an aura of oppression and might. It didn’t feel too bad to me, but I can guess just how much pressure it is putting on the other dragons.

{Quite the beast that is. Yes. This will be fun. I might actually be able to use more than 20% of my power.} Despite the appearance of my first Sacred Beast, Lady Ami Janina didn’t seem wary.

“My Lady, I am far from done!” I called to her. “I would still like to call two more beasts to join in on the fun!”

{You can call more beasts of this caliber at the same time? Well now this is getting interesting.} I heard the dragon respond.

Alright. Another four cards then. Better not disappoint her.

“I activate three copies of Vengeful Bog Spirit! Then I tribute them all to summon my second Sacred Beast!”

The wastelands were quickly taken over by a massively thick fog, but as soon as I began my second chant, that fog began to accumulate into a single place.

“O lord of Thunder which strikes from above

Hear my call striking like thy Thunder

Burst the Spells that cannot bind you

And appear before us, o second Phantasm

Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder!”

The fog finally consolidated into a huge block of ice. Then crackles of lightning began running over the block of ice, until the block burst open and from it, my second Sacred Beast appeared.

Spoiler

For those wondering why Hamon appears from ice. Well, it does in the Anime, so I just went with it. If you don’t believe me, just look up Yu-Gi-Oh! GX- Season 1 Episode 48 on Youtube (or some other site, if it is region blocked where you are). Or use this handy link here.

Hamon, like Uria before it, took a position between me and Lady Ami Janina. He stood on the right side… my right, of Uria. Hamon was about 40-ish meters tall, from feet to head, but if you take the wings and tail into consideration, he looks quite a bit larger. And just like Uria, it was letting out an aura of oppression, which almost felt like it stacked perfectly with Uria’s, to make the feeling much worse.

{... you really did summon a second beast. You really are an abnormality.} Lady Ami Janina said, sounding honestly impressed.

“Don’t think this is all! I still have one more!” I called, as I got out some more cards. “I activate Phantasmal Martyrs! I now send two cards to the GY, so I can summon three Phantasmal Martyr Tokens!”

Spoiler

I did consider just summoning three fiend monsters, but I thought that using Phantasmal Martyrs would be more… appropriate for this. And because I can just ‘draw’ cards whenever I want, having to toss out my entire ‘hand’ isn’t really a problem. And that is just what I did. I pulled the last Sacred Beast out of my collection.

“Now, I tribute my three Phantasmal Martyr Tokens to summon my last Sacred Beast!”

Like with the other two, a summoning chant came to my head as I placed the last Sacred Beast onto my duel disk. Of course I didn’t resist, but let the chant flow from my head into my mouth and come out as speech.

“O Lord of Fiends from the world of darkness

Hear my tributes screaming for thy mercy

Respond to their calls to give them meaning

And appear before us, o third Phantasm

Raviel, Lord of Phantasms!”

My three tributes turned into deep blue light, that light enveloping the wastelands below. It grew brighter and brighter, until it shot upwards like a laser, blinding at least me, but possibly everyone looking directly at it. After my vision returned, I saw my third Sacred Beast standing next to my other two.

Raviel then took his spot between Uria and Raviel, forcing Uria to sidestep a bit. … step… a flying dragon doesn’t take a step, but Uria did still move for Raviel.

With my three Sacred Beasts gathered, I finally got a sense of how powerful these monsters were when brought together. The aura they radiated made me feel quite uneasy. It was honestly a lot more oppressive than anything I’ve felt before. Even monsters like the behemoth or the world treant couldn’t even compare to the might of three Sacred Beasts.

And looking at our audience, I think they would agree. Most of the dragons that were floating in the air at the start had landed, looking like they were ready to bow their heads to their new overlords. All except the largest, and probably strongest of them. The dragons that rival Agunan in size. There weren’t many of them, but there do appear to be at least 6.

And of course Lady Ami Janina didn’t shake. She seemed just as calm as she was in the beginning. … no. She actually seems … excited? Is she really that powerful? That three Sacred Beasts, all combining their oppressive auras, cannot shake her?

“My Lady! These are the monsters I’ve summoned to fight you!” I called the dragon. “I hope they do live up to your expectations!”

{Yes. They are quite the set of summoned beasts. I hope you can sustain them.}

“I can keep them out here for long enough! You can fight any of them, or even all at the same time!”

{Since you offered, I shall warm up with the red dragon, and then take on the other two at the same time.} Lady Ami Janina said, with clear excitement in her voice. Even though I struggle hearing differences in dragon’s voices, I can at least tell that much.

So Uria vs … crazy strong serpentine dragon. Followed by Hamon and Raviel vs said dragon. I wonder how this will go?

Agunan and I took some distance, then I quickly set up a Wall of Revealing Light using 10,000 HP to surround the fighting area. Since my wall doesn’t prevent attacks, but acts more like a barrier, it is perfect to keep any backlash from hitting the audience, including Agunan and I.

Spoiler

[collapse]

And of course because of Health Conscious, I didn’t have to actually pay a single HP.

Then I had my two other Sacred Beasts pull back to the edge of the barrier I just made, and the fight was ready to start.

Alright. Let’s see how far Uria can go. I don’t have any extra traps in the GY, so Uria should only be 3000/3000 at this moment. 1Note that I do use Anime Uria. And unlike the TCG version, anime Uria does gain both defense and attack based on the number of traps in the GY. That honestly just might not be enough, but we will see. And I can resurrect Uria from the GY by sending a trap there, so even if he dies, he is easy to bring back.2Again, Anime effect.

Without any sort of signal to start, Lady Ami Janina made the first move. She moved at speeds my eyes could barely follow and flew at Uria. Even my Sacred Beast didn’t move in time, only reacting after Janina’s maw was already pressing her fangs into Uria’s body.

Uria quickly covered his entire body with flames, trying to force the other dragon off of him, and either because they were hot, or just because she didn’t want to win yet, Janina backed off a bit.

“... that’s not good.” I quietly muttered.

{Our Lady is just that powerful. Even I can just barely follow her movements.} Agunan told me. {I’ll admit that I’ve lost to that Sacred Beast in the Factory. But don’t think our Lady will be the same as me.}

“Yeah. Figured that out from that speed.” I really wish Uria won’t get completely stomped on. But I guess if the Sacred Beasts lose this fight, I can always call out the Wicked Gods, Obelisk the Tormentor or even Exodia.

I focused back on the fight and quickly noticed that Janina had begun holding back. After her first initial attack, she had no longer moved at speeds I couldn’t follow. So she must have realized that Uria just isn’t as fast as she is, and was holding back to not end the fight too soon.

It was still not even really a fight. In every clash, Janina was stronger. She was constantly leaving deep marks into Uria’s scales, while Uria could barely scratch her. It was like a world champion boxer fighting a junior champion, or something like that. Janina probably knew she could end this whenever she wished, so she just held back to extend the fight just a bit.

Too bad for her, I still have time limits on my summons, so maybe I should have Uria end this. … forcing him into an unwinnable situation isn’t really fun, but Uria won’t beat Janina anyway, unless I toss more traps into the GY. And I can do that later.

“Uria! Attack her with Hyper Blaze!” I commanded my beast. I know this is possibly a suicide attack, because if Janina attacks back, Uria will probably perish.

Uria did as I ordered and quickly gathered flames into its mouth, before shooting it towards Lady Ani Janina. I was expecting her to strike back, but instead, she turned to face the incoming flames, before she moved at that unseeable speed and rushed straight through the flames, causing the flames to split as she pushed through. She then used her front claws to strike Uria’s face, carving deep grooves into my beast. That was the final straw and Uria’s body began to vanish, like a dying flame. Soon enough, nothing was left.

{As a warm up, it was alright. But I was expecting more from the high praise Agunan was giving.} Lady Ami Janina didn’t seem overly impressed with Uria. While I had noticed a scratch or two on her during the fight, I no longer could spot any of them, so she must have healed them already. Or maybe it is some sort of regeneration.

“I’m sorry Uria couldn’t live up to your expectations. But don’t worry, as I do have two others ready. And Uria is not done yet.” As I said that, I got a trap out of my collection. “Let me show you. By sending this trap card to the GY, my Lord of Searing Flames returns.”

After I said that, at the place where Uria burned away in, a small flame appeared. The flame quickly grew in size, until it was once again the size of the Sacred Beast, before the flames disappeared and my Sacred Beast was revealed.

“My Sacred Beasts don’t die just because you kill them! So feel free to go all out!”

{I see. Yes. In that case, I might actually be able to have some fun. I shall fight all three of them now. I hope they don’t disappoint me.}

With my Sacred Beasts once again lined up and their opponent floating in the air in front of them, round 2 was about to begin. And this time, it might actually be balanced.

With four traps now in my GY, my Uria was now at 4000/4000. And both Raviel and Hamon always are 4000/4000. Well, unless Raviel uses its effect to gain more attack, but that is besides the point.

Can three 4000/4000 monsters take on this crazy strong, and fast, dragon? Maybe. But only one way to find out.

“Everyone, attack!” I commanded my monsters. “Uria, Hyper Blaze! Hamon, Cerulean Sky Fire! Raviel, Celestial Ravaging Fist!” I commanded my monsters.

Wait? Celestial? Isn’t that the style of magic Sorcerer of Dark Magic uses? The one that used that stardust stuff? Well, whatever. I guess a Sacred Beast might be able to use something like that.

With my command, my Sacred Beasts did a good job coordinating their attacks. Uria’s flames were the ones that came out first, attempting again to singe Janina. Of course the great dragon didn’t stay still, but just calmly flew out of the way of the flames. But with three monsters attacking, just avoiding can be a little difficult, because as soon as she avoided the flames, the clear sky began crackling with the sound of thunder, before a multitude of lightning bolts shot down towards the dragon. And with the speed at which said bolts were traveling, even Janina has no choice but to…

NO! You can’t just do that. How can she dodge a literal lightning bolt?

I watched as Janina just calmly flew around the area my Wall of Revealing Light made, dodging the repeated lightning bolts. And as she was, she also made a quick pass by Uria and Hamon, striking both of them with her tail. It wasn’t enough to kill either of them, but they clearly took damage.

But finally, it was Raviel’s turn. After I had ordered him to attack, his form had disappeared from sight. But now, it reappeared right in Janina’s flight path. And with his right hand claws shining, he slashed at the great dragon. Perhaps being bored of dodging, or just being overly confident, Janina decided to strike back against Raviel. But instead of using her claws or her tail, she went straight in with her teeth. Biting through Raviel’s attack and ripping a good chunk of his arm straight off. She then spit the part of Raviel’s arm to the side.

Holy God she is strong. Just casually dodging lightning and even biting through Raviel’s stardust powered claws. Just how strong is this dragon? Now I’m quite disappointed that I don’t have Armityle, because I get a feeling that she could possibly even fight him.

Well, we can always have a rematch after I get myself an Armityle. For now, I should focus back on the match, as something interesting was happening to Raviel’s cut off arm. The arm was breaking apart and forming into small fiends. They looked a bit like miniature versions of Raviel, each being around 4 meters tall. I think they are Phantasm Tokens.

Spoiler

[collapse]

The one cut off arm produced a total of three of them, and as soon as they had fully formed, they began making their way towards Raviel, who had retreated behind Hamon after his arm was bitten off.

The fight continued with Uria and Hamon attacking fiercely, even if most of their attacks didn’t land on Janina. The lightning and the flames still kept her distracted enough that she didn’t have time to interrupt Raviel. Raviel was feasting on his own Phantasm Tokens, eating them one after the other in one gulp. This was likely Raviel using his effect to gain more attack, so with three tokens consumed, I think his attack should now be 7000. His arm even regenerated.

With his power now boosted, Raviel roared. I don’t know what it was, as to me it just sounded like a roar, but my two other Sacred Beasts seemed to get some sort of message from it, as they grouped with Raviel, possibly getting ready to attack together.

With just a glance from Raviel, Hamon and Uria both rushed towards Janina. This might be a suicide attack, but it could also be worth it. If they can make an opening, maybe the powered up Raviel can at least injure Janina.

Hamon was first to make contact. With his body covered in lighting, he rushed at Janina with speeds that were getting close to the dragons. At least that is what it looked like to me, as it was challenging to follow the lightning fast movement of Hamon. But I guess following Janina with my eyes was impossible, so Hamon is still slower.

Next one was Uria. With his body covered in flames, Uria flew around and approached Janina from behind. Then with Janina not running away, he began coiling his body around the other serpentine dragon, while also burning her.

And then, with Janina held in place by the two Sacred Beasts, Raviel moved. With his claws once again shining with stardust, he struck at the great dragon. The claws were able to penetrate Janina’s scales, and some reasonably deep wounds were left in the dragon's body.

But it didn’t seem to matter. As soon as Raviel had attacked, Janina counter attacked. Gathering a golden light all over her body, she then let it burst out. The light was quite intense, causing me to cover my eyes.

When I looked up, my Sacred Beasts were gone, all three of them. And on top of that, the Wall of Revealing Light I set up had taken quite a bit of damage. It hadn’t broken, but that attack definitely was around its upper limit. A bit more and it likely would have shattered.

Lady Ani Janina then took a quick victory lap around the battle area, before flying close to us.

{Child. You said those beasts are easy to bring back, right? Could you bring them back for another round? They are quite fun to play with.}

… Excuse me, what? She isn’t even done yet?  … well, whatever. I’m sorry, Uria, Hamon and Raviel. I know you can’t win, but I also can’t say no. The divine dragon demands it, so I must oblige.

I tossed a trap to the GY to summon back Uria, a spell to summon back Hamon and last a fiend to summon back Raviel. With my three Sacred Beasts back in action, round three began.

nro_8 Did I add a resurrection effect for Hamon and Raviel, yes. Well, I already stated as much when I got Hamon. I think it is fun for them to have those effects. And it isn’t like Brian couldn’t just use Monster Reborn or Call of the Haunted to summon Raviel and Hamon back.

Also. Fights are difficult to write. Like God damned they are difficult. But I want to have them, because they are hopefully amazing.

And hey. 300 chapters. At 200, I said I didn’t have anything special planned, but it turned out to still be a good chapter, but this time, I had something special. And I hope it lived up to your expectations.
