"Mistress, what happened?" Jinse rushed toward Qianru who had just entered the courtyard with pale face as if she was chased by ghost.

The young female servant didn't really go inside when Qianru told her to go, instead she waited for her mistress near the entrance, thus when she saw her Mistress ran in fear she hurriedly looked for her, but she didn't hear a commotion or something that out of ordinary from Qianru's direction.

When Qianru heard Jinse's voice behind her, she stopped running and turned around only to see Jinse, who almost lost her breath, catch up to her.

"No, nothing…" Qianru shook her head as she rubbed her aching wrist, her breath became shallow as she stretched her neck to look at the entrance gate warily.

"My lady, this is already past midnight, let's go back inside… probably Prince Xiao will comeback in the morning. This servant will stay awake to wait for Prince Xiao and will inform you right away when he comeback." Jinse tried to persuade her, sincerely worry about Qianru's health.

But, Qianru was stubborn, she had been waiting for Xiao Jun for long time and she wouldn't accede now.

If she could, she would have come to the palace hall to see by her own eyes that his husband was fine, that whatever his plan was going well, no one knew about… the murderer of Mo Jingchen.

This thought made her more anxious. She had never felt so tense like this before.

"I will wait for him a little more." Qianru mumbled as she walked toward the pavilion where she had had tea with Mo Xuan Fei before.

Seeing how persistent her mistress, Jinse couldn't do anything to persuade her otherwise. "I will make some tea for you my lady…" She informed Qianru, who gave her a faint smile.

As the night fell and the chirping crickets were the only sound that accompanied Qianru and Jinse inside the pavilion, except from a warm cup of tea, they were waiting until the sun almost kissed the horizon.

After another hour, the faint neighing horse and hooves against the ground broke their long waiting moment.

At the entrance, Xiao Jun and Liu Wei had just dismounted their horses when the two guards were approaching them to take over the horses.

"Master, Princess Xiao has been waiting for you for this whole night, she is in the pavilion with Jinse now." One of the guards informed Xiao Jun respectfully.

Frowning, Xiao Jun didn't ask further when his feet rushed him toward the pavilion in the middle of the yard.

However, before he could arrive there, Qianru had met him halfway. Her face was pale and her eyes looked tired when she approached him, but a soft smile curled on her lips.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.webnovel.com for visiting.

His wife caught him out of guard when she wrapped her arms around his waist tightly as she sighed in relief.

Looking at Xiao Jun now was enough to make her grateful as all of her worries were washed away into crisp air in the morning light.

"You are so cold…" Xiao Jun mumbled in her ears when he hugged her back, she lost more weight again…

Ignoring Xiao Jun's comment, Qianru said with determination laced in her voice. "I want to stay with you…" She sobbed softly.

How she could let Xiao Jun alone in this chaos situation, though it was Xiao Jun who had instigated it.

She was well aware that she wouldn't be much help, but at the very least, the only thing that she could do was standing beside him and let him knew that he wasn't alone.

The same thing that she had been doing all of these years, when she accompanied him the moment he lost both of his parents, stripped off from his title and faced the dangerous faction that turned against him.

It was always her who would be there for him, and Qianru didn't have any intention to change it now. Not now, not later.

"Thank you…" Was all that Xiao Jun could say when he caressed Qianru's soft hair.

"He did this to you?" Xiao Jun's voice was deep and solemn as his eyes fixed at the bruises on Qianru's wrist.

She had the same bruises when Xiao Jun held her by force, but it has faded, however the bruises on Qianru's wrist now was new one.

At first, Qianru didn't want to tell him about this, but after he prodded her with no room to refuse, only then she told him about what Mo Qin Yi did last night.

Only some people knew that Xiao Jun's calmness was his way to feign the rage within him and Qianru knew this very well.

"It's alright… I bit his hand and kick his knee." Qianru said with sheepish smile to lighten his mood, with no avail.

"You should kick his crotch." Xiao Jun said heartlessly.
