Chapter 92:《Hide and Seek》Premiere (1)

Snap! Snap! Snap! The sound of shutters clicking filled the air as Al flashed a smile and greeted the surrounding reporters, standing gracefully as they snapped photos.

"Mr. Pacino, this is your first time starring in a horror movie. How does it compare to your previous roles?" One reporter asked loudly.

"For me, every role is like a new life. Unfortunately, I can't sketch their complete life stories, only fragments remain in my heart. So I can't really compare which one is better," Al replied at length, displaying his seasoned experience by addressing the question lightly at the end.

"Mr. Pacino," another reporter inquired, "this is David Fincher's directorial debut. It's said that you two have a good relationship. What are your expectations of him?"

"David is a very talented director. He has many unique ideas and I've always believed that directing a movie was only a matter of time for him. This collaboration proves my belief and I have full confidence in him," Al replied.

"As for Angela Mason, who plays your daughter, what do you think of her? They say she's the screenwriter for this movie. Do you think such a young girl could write such an exciting movie?"

"'Baseless assumptions are rude, dear reporter. As for Miss Mason, she's both charming and intelligent. I don't want to say too much, but anyone who's been around her knows she's undoubtedly a genius," Al shrugged, signaling that he wouldn't take any more questions.

At that moment, a car pulled up to the entrance and a petite, pretty girl jumped out. She wore a white pleated skirt that reached to the floor, a matching white long-sleeved blouse buttoned with three or four blue Tang buttons, and her short, refreshing hair pulled back to neck length, giving her a beautiful and spirited appearance.

"Hey, Angela, good to see you." Al, who had already gone to the hotel entrance, returned and hugged Angela with a smile, gently rubbing her cheek.

"Good to see you too, Al Dad." The little girl replied playfully, seemingly oblivious to the reporters around her. However, when Al held her hand, he noticed that her palm was slightly sweaty.

"Let's go inside, it's about to start." Al patted her hand understandingly and then held it as he motioned for Jack Sparrow to accompany them into the hotel. Even though the reporters called out to Angela to ask questions, it couldn't stop her footsteps.

"Mr. Pacino, Mr. Sparrow, Miss Mason?" As they entered the hotel, a desk clerk approached them and, after receiving confirmation, pointed them in the right direction. "Please follow this corridor to the banquet hall."

Angela finally breathed a sigh of relief in the corridor leading to the hall. Al, who had been holding her hand the whole time, smiled gently. "Nervous?"

"Yeah... I really wanted to say no, but... the sound of those reporters' cameras was so unsettling. For a few seconds I felt like I couldn't even breathe. I should have gone to the premiere of《The Parent Trap》last time. That way I would have some experience by now."

"But how do you know you wouldn't have been nervous at your last premiere?" Al laughed heartily until he saw a pained expression on Angela's face. Then he patted her hand again. "Don't worry, dear. Everyone feels that way. After all, you have to be under the spotlight, don't you?"

"Yes, I know. So I was just sighing. Anyway, thanks, Al Dad." The little girl made a funny face to express her gratitude.

The banquet hall was already filled with numerous guests, including movie stars, directors, and various corporate executives. Many of them were unfamiliar to her, but there were also those who knew her while she remained unrecognized by them.

For example, there was the lady in the front in a one-shouldered red dress talking quietly with her companion, who must now be Mrs. Cruise, and there was also someone she knew, like Julia Roberts, who had promised to attend the premiere and was currently chatting with Mrs. Cruise.

So, after apologizing to Al, she went straight up to Julia with a smile on her face and said, "You actually came, my dear talkative Sister.

"Hi, Angela. You look beautiful today, and..." Julia looked her up and down, then giggled, "and handsome too!"

"You mean I look like this and I'm going to charm a bunch of little girls?" Angela posed teasingly.

"Yes, yes, not only little girls, little boys will be enchanted by you too." Julia didn't catch the hidden meaning in Angela's words and introduced the lady next to her, "This is..."

"Oh, I know. Miss Nicole Kidman, nice to meet you." Angela interrupted, blinking her eyes, "Or should I call you Mrs. Cruise?"

The lady seemed a little surprised, but quickly recovered and smiled. "You may call me Nicole, Miss Mason."

"Okay, Nicole, but you have to call me Angela too." The little girl stuck out her tongue and then looked around, "Is Mr. Cruise around? If so..."

Like she was performing magic, she pulled out a notebook and pen and handed them to Nicole, saying with a cheeky smile, "Could you give me an autograph, Nicole? I really love《Days of Thunder》."

"I'm surprised. You like sports movies too?" Nicole took the pen and notebook, turned to a blank page, wrote a few words as she had before, and then signed her name.

"My dad likes this kind of movie. Influenced by him, I've seen quite a few, and《Days of Thunder》is one of them." Angela simply brought her father into the conversation.

Just then, a handsome man approached them, "Hey, Nicole."

"Hi darling. How's your conversation going?" Nicole, who had just returned the notebook to Angela, recognized her husband.

"Not bad, but..." Tom Cruise whispered something in her ear, then hugged her and started to walk away to the other side.

"Hey, Tom, you should say hello to the others." Nicole said hurriedly.

"What?" Tom paused, then noticed Julia standing next to Nicole, "Hi, Julia. Sorry, I'm in a hurry because..." He gestured to the crowd over there, not specifying what it was, obviously it was a private matter.

"No problem. If you have something to do, you can go." Julia didn't say much.

"Thanks." Tom nodded and smiled - he had to be quite charming when he smiled - and then left with his wife, never once glancing at Angela. In the end, Nicole could only give Angela an apologetic smile as she was led away by her husband.

"Is this guy always like this?" Angela wondered. He's so careless. Just because I'm a little short doesn't mean he should ignore me completely.

The little girl pouted unhappily. 'Well, Mr. Cruise, since you're getting divorced anyway and there are rumors that you're bisexual, I curse you to become a real homosexual in the future!'

Angela didn't take her joke seriously; it was just a product of boredom with nothing else to do. Sometimes the world could be so dull.

"You seem upset," Julia's voice brought the girl back to the present.

"Am I? I don't think so." Angela shrugged and looked at the Cruise couple in the crowd. Tom was introducing his wife to others, and Nicole had a cozy look on her face, but who knew that 10 years later, well, technically 8 years, they would be separated?

"To be honest big Sister, you should find a male companion to attend the premiere with you. I don't know about the others, but there is someone who would be more than happy to serve you." Angela winked at that.

"All right, Angela," Julia's face turned slightly red, "at least for now I have no plans to end my single life."

"But I'm already looking forward to calling you Auntie," the little girl made a funny face, "even if it doesn't sound as nice as calling you Sister."

Julia felt a little embarrassed, so she changed the subject, "By the way, I hear you're already attending Rosewood Girls' Private High School. How does it feel to be in an all-girls school?"

This topic successfully diverted Angela's attention. To be honest, her life at the girls' school had been mediocre. Compared to public schools, private schools were very different, with different courses covering all aspects of life. Sure, they had language, literature, and art classes, but they even had yoga exercises! As if that weren't enough, there was also basic finance. All this overwhelmed the little girl, and while she could learn quickly if she liked something, she couldn't stand a single letter if she didn't.

As for social relationships, she had made a few friends besides Lily. As for Vicky, even though she had teased and even challenged Angela on the first day of school, they had gotten along well for the time being. However, the class was beginning to divide, not necessarily in terms of camps, but rather Vicky representing the wealthy girls and her friends from similarly wealthy families forming a beauty clique.

They were always planning what to wear, how to dress beautifully, and this attracted many girls. They were not opposed to new members joining them, but if your clothes did not conform to their brand aesthetic, they would ridicule you mercilessly.

For Angela, who only cared about dressing well and never cared about brand names, this kind of ridicule was the most annoying. However, the little girl didn't take it to heart, she just found it occasionally boring, typical male thinking. Anyway, when her parents gave her the list of schools to choose from, there was only Rosewood, the all-girls school. So if it was boring, then it was like that, and she didn't want to argue with them.

"It's okay, I guess," Angela shrugged, and even she could hear the insincerity in her words, but someone approached her and pulled her out of the crowd, saying, "How are you, Angela?"
